Quilt of Valor show 5/8

This weeks Quilt of Valor show is a little long - but I hope you will take the time to enjoy all the quilts! I hope they will inspire you, and get your creativity going!

First off - A huge thank you to all the quilters - and for this show especially Liz... whatever Liz is doing to get all this energy - I think she should patent it!!

This is a strippy quilt - pieced and quilted by Liz. I think If you click on any of the photos you should be able to see more detail of the quilting.

And Air Force quilt - I like how the panels are highlighted, and I was trying to be all artsy in my photo - so I put a straight on shot below.....

A Second Air Force Quilt -

And  wonderful Plaid one!  Since I am in my Plaid Phase  This one really jumped out at me. I love the subtle blues.

Liz also found this really cool camo and made this one! Great with the grey!! ( or gray?)

I love how this one has green and tan sprinkled in there too!!!

Another one pieced and quilted by Liz - see - she has WAY to much energy for one person right?  I need to bottle it!!!

And after we go through all of those quilts above - she says - oh - and I went on a retreat last week and made these two quilts.  ( and they are quilted AND bound AND washed !!!)
 Aren't they great???

Just so you know - these next Quilts of Valor were all QUILTED by Liz!!!

This beauty was made by Maxine H of Kansas. I tell you - this one has real WOW factor to it - all of my boys ( men) Loved it!!!

And the quilting - perfect for it!!!

This is a Heartstrings Quilt - the blocks were made by many and the top was assembled by Sue F - I love the design!! These string quilts are so versatile!!

Another beauty from Heartstrings - I love the liberal use of blue in this one!!

A top pieced by my Miracles friends!!  And quilted by Liz. Like my funky hanger? I think I need more couches, or more floor space when I am taking these photos!

And this yummy string quilt was pieced by Kevin  - and I cut off the borders!! But isn't it great!!!

Thank you all for stopping by!!  I hope you enjoyed todays Quilt show!!!  And I hope you are inspired.

When I went to QuiltCon in Austin - I got this great swag bag - and in it was a magazine or two. One of them I already subscribe to - so! I thought I would give this copy away. It is Modern Quilts Unlimited  and it is just an awesome magazine...

If you are interested in being entered into the drawing - leave me a comment, if you are a no reply or anonymous - leave me a way to contact you ( even if you think I should already know)

and tell me what you are working on right now.... then you will be entered!  I will announce the winner net wednesday and send this out!

Wonderful show today! WOW!

I'm currently finishing 12 teacher gifts - all mug rugs. I'm also starting a table runner for my mother-in-law and next is a flannel rag quilt for my soon-to-be-born "Irish twin" miracle great niece/nephew.

Hi Alycia
Love seeing the QOV quilts. I am working on several different quilts. A bargello, a QOV and a block of the month among others. Yes I have QADD - quilters attention deficit disorder.

Loved the show today... lots of variety and inspiration. (If Liz does bottle that energy, let me have a sip, please.)
Right now I'm still working on my palms quilt during the day. After supper, I've started a pink, yellow and lime green hexie Grandmother's Flower Garden for hand sewing while watching TV. I'm really enjoying the hexies.
Thanks for a chance at the magazine!

All are beautiful quilts, but the blue is my favorite. I'm working on two things right now, piecing a star quilt and finishing up applique on a log cabinish quilt. Thanks for the giveaway!

I love to see all the QoV quilts -so versatile! I am working on finishing 3 quilts for our guild's quilt show in october; one needs binding, one needs couching, and the third needs to be started!

Thanks for the quilt show each week. It gives us ideas for our own QOV group here in IL. I have been wanting to see that magazine. I have lots of quilts in progress and 2 are for soldiers.

Love the show. I am off to a class, scrappy strips sliced a different way for me. I will be using my 30 repros which I have been stroking for years. I do hope I don't mind cutting into them. Then I will be making some brown centered Heartstring blocks for the sew along. (And let's not even talk about the other projects, finishing up a woven floor mat, working on placemats, a spiderweb quilt, etc. etc!)

Alycia: Thank you for what you are doing with the QOV and for taking the time to share these beauties. I have been inspired by your post to do more here in my little corner of the universe.

As usual a stunning QOV show! I have 2 more client quilts to do before we leave for Maui this year. I am prepping kits to take with me. I also have a dozen string QOV quilts here left by one very prolific member of our quilt club for the local VA hospital, but they'll have to wait until we get home. (I need to get these done before she returns in the fall!)

Thanks again to you and your great friends for the wonderful work you do.

I am just finishing a quilt for my granddaughter's graduation. It is a Malka Dubrawsky design, using her fabric line. It is a modern take on a shoo fly block. I am waiting on the delivery of my new longarm machine to start quilting it. Can't wait! jahensley1@gmail.com

HI Alycia, Love your QOV show every week. I too liked the blue plaid one this week. I just finished quilting a quilt and will maybe start quilting Bonnie Hunter's Easy Street. Also will be helping my mother-in-law make a small spring wall hanging. Thanks for a chance at the magazine. Some of the modern quilt patterns look like fun.

I am about to add the backing to my "get a clue with Nancy Drew" quilt. At the same time, I continue to work on a Qov. Thanks for the chance to win a magazine that is new to me.

well, who would not love all these fabulous quilts? That last one really was my favorite too. Your magazine give away is so kind-it's not a magazine I have seen around here!
I am leaving my email here as I don't want to take a chance it won't show once you approve this post,
