Go me!!!
So!! this one started out as the 20 stars for 20 years anniversary top from Quilts of Valor. I followed the first 3 steps (ish) and then.... went a little off course... BUT!!!
I think I like what it Morphed into!!
Mine will be completely different that the rest !! It ended up being 60 x 72 inches - so I think that will be perfect...
Now to get it into the quilting que....
I was looking back at some of my QOV posts - it seems like some years ( like 2012) I committed to 12 QOV's that year... and made all these goals. I met them - and then some!!
I don't have a QOV goal this year - I think I will take it as it comes and see how many things I can make... maybe just a personal race for me to make as many as I can squeeze in?
I also know that I suck at statistics.. and keeping counts of things.
Who Like Oriental fabrics? this is a bag of them!! Smaller pieces - some are 12 inch square - but enough to make that litt;e butterfly - or something else.

I love applique! However, I do very little of it. What I really like is hand applique and already have too many hand projects. Lovely oriental fabrics.
Your WOV is beautiful. I saved that pattern last year and it's still in my stack of ideas for new QOVs for this year. I haven't set an actual goal, but do have 1 new QOV top done and have 3 more kitted up to work on. One of those kits is with me this week at my daughter's.
So nice to have a finished top!!! It turned out perfectly. The Oriental fabrics are very pretty! I stink at stats, too, and never go back and slog through my blog to count things...
The joy is in the doing!

I enjoy applique in moderation. I go in spurts.
The Japanese fabrics are lovely. I have always liked Japanese prints and they are even more appropriate for me these days as one of my sons lives in Japan (and has for almost 5 years, teaches English).

What a perfect QOV! II've made blocks for three QOV and have finished two. Although one won't count as I gave it to a Turkish soldier who served numerous tours in Afghanistan among other places in the world. PTSD challenges him every day. I thought wrapping up in a quilt would help his mind fight that PTSD. I hear the quilt does help. I'm currently working on QOV number three and have an idea for number four. I do enjoy applique. . . .especially needle turn. There is something soothing about the needle passing in and out of the fabric.
Ooooh, that QOV turned out beautifully! Good luck with your goal, sometimes people do better when they go with the flow and don't force a goal. Stay warm!

Just piecing; no spplique. I told hubby to enjoy the appliqued quilts in the museums and shows, that I never intend to make one. But I just inherited cut-out pieces for an applique transportation quilt, so I guess I’d better reconsider.
This afternoon, my daug was pointing out Japanese-looking pieces in an inherited 1930’s flimsy. She wants it, so I’ll get it finished w her choices of backing/binding; a flannel, if I can find a subdued blue that she likes. Tlcahaynes @ gmail.com

I like applique, but I am not so good at it, so those projects keep moving to the back of the pile. Just need to do it.

I'm trying to like applique. Actually I like to look at it! I like doing the applique but I'm not too fond of all the prep work. I love butterflies.
I love applique quilts most of all because the pictures created with them tell Me a story. And I can use them to tell stories to my granchildren. I have one such quilt with houses, a laundry line full of clothes, a row of stars, a row of flowers and a row of dancing bunnies. Oh what stories you could tell :)

I love applique - I mostly use the embroidery machine and do embroidery machine applique. I do like handwork and like applique but generally end up using the time I would do applique to cut quilt pieces or pin things together - or something so I don't do much hand applique.
The oriental fabrics are beautiful!
