This year we decided that it would be fun to do a little get away over Christmas. We booked a cabin in the mountains and packed our snowshoes.
Behind the cabin we rented was a trail to a place called the Thumb. I guess in the summer it is a big Rock Climbing destination - but the climb up to the base of the rock, was quite a hike!!
We climbed up to almost as high as the mountains in the Park ( I think they are in the 13-14K range)
We didn't really hike that high - but It sure felt like it!!
And you kept going up - the views were incredible!
We made it to the first clearing they say it is about 8400 feet.
Then all of us at the climbing spot... it was beautiful
This was back down in town - the elk came out to give us a parade - knowing how well we did with our hike ;-)
When we looked down we realized that we had gone about 2000 feet up, and it made our knees weak .
But so pretty!!
And now for the giveaway part - I will be glad to send this out to anyone in the continental US
The three solid colors are about 1/2 yard each, and the top one is more - maybe a yard and a 1/2
To enter the drawing for the giveaway - leave me a comment ( with your email if you are a no reply blogger) And tell me what your Favorite Easter Candy is,
I will draw next Wednesday ( the 17th - when the FIRST CLUE FOR STARS LIKE SPAGHETTI appears) and contact the winner.

Were you staying in Estes Park? I've been there a few times and almost always see a bunch of elk (they love the golf course). 2 outta 3 kids is great!
Yellow Marshmallow Peeps are by far my favorite Easter Candy.
Thank you for the chance to be the new owner of these bright Springtime fabrics. My sewing group is working on receiving blankets for our local hospital and these fabrics will be put to good use and well loved.
Sunshine and Smiles,

Wow, that’s quite the Elk herd! What city were you in as it looks like the elk population might be equal to the people!
Favorite Easter candy is Cadbury mini eggs! Would have fun with this fabric.
you must have been in Colorado - don't you love those Elk and the mountains. I saw a photo just the other day of the elk taking over 3 lawns in Estes Part Co. we have been there and love that area

We do love our Robyn Eggs here in this household. The Whopper brand of course ;-D
Looks like you had some beautiful weather for hiking! Love the elk parade, too. We found a bunch on Mariana Butte golf course here in December! My favorite candy - no matter which holiday - is peanut M&Ms!
Amazing views on that hike. Such cute fabric and just perfect for Easter. My favorite Easter candy - the Cadbury eggs of course!
What cute fabrics for a drawing! I always liked the jelly beans that came in my Easter basket.
THose hollow Palmer chocolate bunnies with the candy carrot and eyeballs. Used to break those apart and put peanut butter on them before eating.

I like jelly beans...just the regular Brachs brand but I remove the black ones first. Your trip sounds so fun!! Glad you got a break. The fabric would be great for a toddler quilt to donate to the children's home. Thanks for the chance to win it!

Were you in Colorado? Wherever it is, it is gorgeous. I love the idea of booking a cabin for Christmas and hiking, even at my age! Looks like everyone was having a good time. Love the elk parade.
My favorite Easter candy is a tossup between pastel plain M&Ms and peanut butter eggs. :D

I'm a jellybeaner all the way!
Your lovely fabric would make a wonderful Spring baby quilt, and I hope that I get to make it.
Looks like a fun vacation! I wish I could do altitude but I won't try that again. I thought I was going to die at 9000 ft when I was out in Colorado the last time (when I visited you). But I might get to visit you again this Spring. My best friend is out there and might get me to fly out and ride back East with her in her Sprinter van. I told her that if I did that we had to go visit you!
What a fun Christmas vacation. Love the photos, so pretty!
any kind of dark chocolate, of course!
Favorite Easter candy are the small Milky Way eggs. they are so creamy good.
Always enjoy your pictures so thanks for sharing.
I sure do wish we had such nice weather now, that you had for your vacation.

I Must say, I love your Elk Parade. I'm so jealous! Gorgeous vacation! I Love Cadbury milk chocolate eggs. I guess they must be an elegant version of an M&M... but way tastier!
