The Orange Spinning Goose

I bet you think I didn't have any Orange plaid right?

Well - I surprised even myself and found something close to it!!

Ta da!!!! My Orange RSC Spinning Goose!!!
This is a pattern I designed and you can find the block pattern here:

And look at that - I ( me!!) am Keeping up!!!

One of you asked how I get so much done in a day... and truthfully I do not think I do - but!
I do sleep well at night.... I started taking this:

Melatonin - Have you ever tried it?  I do one gummy... usually go lock the doors, brush my teeth... and in about 20 minutes I am dozing off.

Have you ever tired it?

I've been taking a prescription sleeping pill for years that's regulated so I can only get a 90 day supply at a time. But I started taking melatonin (10 mg) every day after covid as part of my 'prevention plan'. Most nights I sleep good but occasionally even with both in my system, I sleep poorly. ugh

The orange block turned out just as pretty as the others. Good fabric choices! I haven't tried the melatonin, but my oldest daughter swears by it. She worked nights (RT doing sleep studies) for many years, and struggled with the time shifts back and forth. She still struggles with good sleep patterns. Her kids do the gummies too.

Love your orange block and so much fun that you designed it...I should have seen this before but missed it.

Hum, I think I have some of that orange plaid... mine is homespun that I keep trying to use up my collection with hardly a dent being made. UGH. I generally get 7 hours of sleep every night -- except the ones I don't!😬😬

The orange block looks great! I take melatonin every night but 10 mg. I try to take it a half hour before heading to bed to give it time to kick in. Happy stitching!

Yay, another Spinning Goose block!! The orange is fun! I occasionally use melatonin, but it sometimes causes weird dreams for me! Even with it, I'm awake in 3-4 hours anyway! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings!

It's a great block and well done for keeping up! I've never tried melatonin, but then again, I don't seem to have trouble going to sleep but sometimes if I wake up at in the night, I struggle to go back to sleep. Maybe it's because quilt projects are swimming around in my imagination.

I enjoy a cup of Caramel Bed Time tea that has Melotonin in it on occasion, but if I take it too many nights in a row I get headaches. :( Thankfully, I don't need it every night. yay for orange plaid and for keeping up! Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell.

I love your Spinning Geese blocks - of course you had some orange plaid for this month! They're going to make a beautiful quilt. I haven't tried the melatonin, but now you've got me curious about it!

Awesome ORANGE block, Alycia! Regarding sleep... I resort to yoga breathing when I have trouble getting to sleep. Although, if Melatonin helps you sleep deeper, I might need to give it a try!

I love your design block and it looks so good in plaid. Congrats! Thanks for sharing the pattern with us. I appreciate it. I have a prescription for sleeping pills for years but I don't take them all the time. I did for 12 - 15 months then I quit. Now I can go for a few weeks or a month at a time without any pills. Then, when life gets rough again, I take the pill for a week or 10 days. It helps my body to remember how to sleep I guess and I like that. I don't want to be pill-dependent. Sleep is so important though. Take care. ;^)
