Quilters Accountability #14

Probably instead of Accountability this will be more of a personal post. I really didn't set any goals for the last week other that to keep up. We were all fed, no one had to go naked, we even had enough socks, and were not late anywhere - so in my mind - I succeeded!! ( although I never got the chocolate chip cookies made)
`
Here are some of the highlights of this last week. Last night the 5th grade did a presentation. They presented their quilts to all of the parents and families, as well as did a musical presentation on what they have learned over the year.
`
A presentation of the Quilt of Valor called the Twelve blocks of freedom was given to Mr M. a WWII marine. He was very cool! And it will be on T.V. If you are in Colorado it will be on 9news on the 23rd. ( we think)
`
I got to see my middle son perform on his recorder. He is a Star in my book! Plus I thought he looked pretty handsome! And his group did an awesome job!
`
My oldest son had a swim meet just a little bit earlier in that same day and placed really well - so he was happy too!
`
I got this quilt quilted for a customer. I love how it turned out.

`
I also got this quilt quilted for a customer. Her request was lots of feathers in the red. I hope I succeeded.

This is the back.
`
And lastly this week - I made a quick and unplanned trip to Fort Carson. They had a group of 93 incoming and wanted to be able to give them Quilts of Valor. So I loaded up the car - praying the whole time that those quilts would fit. I did an amazing packing job!!! They all fit perfectly, and I could still see out my windows!!
`
As I was unloading a Soldier approached me, he said - oh so you are the quilt lady. And I told him about ALL of the quilters across the United States and Canada, England and St Croix who help make this possible. He teared up and said, Please tell them all Thank you for us. These quilts are well loved.
`
Then he helped me carry some in and disappeared. So I checked with the Chaplain to make sure that he had recieved his quilt. He had!
`
and now I am off, I have a sore throat. One son thinks it is because I yelled to much at his swim meet. But I mean really - if you are NOT loud they can not hear you under the water! The other son thinks it is because I forgot to buy him ice cream, and the third son thinks I want sympathy. I was just voting for a hot fudge sundae......

Cool! Neat that you were able to deliver some quilts and that they were just right. Also pretty cool what the one guy said. Makes it all worth it!

I love seeing the pics of your kids. Too bad I am not any where near Colorado to hear him....

Hope you are feeling better and that you were able to find some ice cream to soothe that sore throat...you do know ice cream is the only sure cure didn't you? ;-)

You got a LOT done this week!
