Hiking / National Parks Quilt and Finished!!! or Not Friday!!!!!

I met a man at the breakfast place, and he saw some of the Quilts that I had made. He Asked if I could help him design one for his wife that included her favorite National Parks on it...

and so the search started for the Fabrics and the Parks and...

Ta da!!!  A perfect sized Lap/Couch quilt (60 x 80) with her favorite parks!!!

I kind of fell in love with these panels - and now I want some!

Her absolute Favorite park was ( of course) Rocky Mountain National Park... I mean - they live in the shadows of it . so that is the back!!!

This week has been interesting for me. I am taking care of Two Ranches near me, as they get a quick chance to go on a vacation. And they are fun, but one of them is pretty far back, and there is nothing but fields around it.

Wednesday it started to snow, and all of a sudden my SUV didn't have enough clearance to make it back to their house. No worries, I unhooked my Pick up and took it. But by Wednesday night I was using the 4WD on the pick up to get back there - the roads were just fluffy snow on top of ice, and the wind made some huge drifts!!!

Here's to a little bit of snow melt before they get home!!! But they picked a great week to go on vacation!! ( seriously!!)

And now it is your turn!!! Tell us what you have been up - Link back so others can join in - and we can all add to our bucket lists!!

A few Client Quilts

My Friends Mother passed away and she was an amazing quilter...but she had a few unfinished tops.

So they all chose the ones they wanted - and my friend asked me to help him finish it. Of course, I fell in love with the quilt... so now you have to see it!! its a controlled scrappy quilt - and the layout - amazing!!

Isn't that a cool layout?  I really like it - and was so honored to help him finish it.

Then a memory quilt. I really like these - they just have so many memories for the person in it - and its cool to see how much these mean.

This is from Linda - she followed the 2021 Modern HST BOM
I love the way she went from reds to Blues - it turned out amazing!!

Puppy says - what's next mom?????

Food??? We are going to get food right?????

Happy Monday!

Cats Cats Cats

Every so often I am asked to make a Quilt for that special someone in a Clients Life .

This time it is a Cat Quilt!!   And I love it... She sent me photos of the room she wanted it for. So I did a little shopping to find fabrics we thought would look great in that room..

This is the first grouping of fabrics, then we decided we better add a few more bright ones in there ( well at least bright for batiks)

I got to making Cats!!! Aren't these adorable? I am having so much fun with them. Who knew your job could make you smile - ha ha

Now I am the cat Factory!!

An Awesome Client Quilt

Do you ever notice how there are kind of seasons of your life?

My job ( and my dream job at that) is being a Machine Quilter for hire!  I LOVE it, and I also love piecing.  This time of year though the weather - oh lawsy the weather drives me outside.

Seriously - the best of both worlds at this time. I get to Quilt on my Client quilts during my day job, and head outside for the rest of the time!  So.... the piecing slows down.

This is a Client Quilt I had the Privilege of quilting on - and then... I had to give it back!!

Is that not a gorgeous quilt???  The graduated colors are just amazing!

And the stars - they just pop with the black on them

I did a lot of ruler work - but it was a lot of fun, and I like the way it highlighted the stars

I should have taken a close up of the stars - they have pretty simple quilting in them, but it totally fit in with the theme.

Need a Quilt Quilted.... Let me know .... I LOVE my job!!!

Raffle Quilt

This is a Raffle quilt for a guild in Haxtun, CO.   It was such a fun one to work on. The group that make it made the house blocks to represent the houses they live in, or grew up in.  I loved that concept!

Isn't that a neat concept?  To quilt your own house??

and of course - it was plaid -
I was in Heaven!!!

Each house block was quilted differently!

And of course -
the BACK!!!

What texture!!

Funky Feathers on Finished Friday

Look! I can Alliterate... Bwahh haa haa.....

I actually finished this before we headed out for a little Walk A bout... My children ( and myself) needed to get out and exercise!!

This is a batik Quilt - it was so much fun to quilt! My client - Janet - said ..... have fun! And so - I did!

It was a big quilt! My floor is at least Queen Size... Since I had a little fold - I think I need a bigger floor!

A couple of close ups - don't you just LOVE those Fabrics??  I sure do ;-)

And here we are - all of us back together again - One Happy Mama!! I love having all my babies under one roof - even if two of them are REALLY taller than me... and one is not far behind!

A sun shot... just to prove we were outside!!

Captain America

In our house Super-Heroes are the name of the game! .... and this quilt came in to be quilted.... the boys DID NOT want to let it go!!

As a matter of face, they tried to convince the topper - Jessica - that they would be happy to keep the quilt for her!!

Here is the full view of the quilt.
Notice the border fabric - it is ALL Captain America.

In the middle of each of the Cream colored sections, I quilted a Captain America Shield.
You all know you can NOT have Capt. America without his shield!!!

And in the Blues I quilted a lot of swirls.
The Big Captain America Border got Shields quilted in it,
and the smaller borders received their own treatment.

My favorite is the center of the cream fabrics. That shield was so fun to do, and of course, all the men in my house thought it was awesome.

The back!!  You always have to check out the back of a quilt!
Especially when the back is a solid color.

And just in case you didn't get to see the Captain America Shield.... here it is... one more time!

This quilt was pieced by Jessica at JMV Quilts in Denver, and of course, quilted by me!

Finished Friday

Our internet has been in and out this morning, and usually that does not bother me.... but last night... instead of diligently working and getting all of my internet *stuff* done....

We went to a swim meet, and then to a Christmas Musical. The Musical was AWESOME!! our church put it on, and I did not know what to expect.... but it certainly wasn't that. What a production!!

We were all talking about it on the way home, and kinda want to go see it again - it was truly amazing. Our music director is nothing short of amazing - he wrote it, directed it, choreographed it.... wow!!

This weeks edition of Finished Friday is another Quilted quilt. At this stage in the year - I think quilting is the game ;-)

The far away picture shows the truest colors, It is the coolest batik quilt - I just loved the colors in it. The close ups kind of muted them.

This is going to a granddaughter ( not mine - the customers!)  so I wanted fun designs, and a more modern pop to it ...

This photo comes from a neighbor - she was out in her field - looking west. Isn't it gorgeous?  If you look real carefully on the right side of the picture there is a bump and a pole. That bump?  That's my house!!!  Too cool!

Although two of the boys and Wrangler Man did venture out today - they were nuts!!

So - what did I get finished for this Friday?

This quilt!! This is the back of it.......

And - Ta da - the front!!
It was pieced by Janet

It was such a cool quilt - and fun to add so much texture to it!

Finished on Friday

The Giveaway Post is Here

This has been on my machine this week - and it was fun, and a challenge. This quilt was made for a man, so we wanted something masculine on it... however... there were lots of big open spaces . This client loves feathers in the big open spaces, but she really wanted this more manly....

It was a star Block of the Month - and the star blocks finished at 16 1/2 inches - so you can see how big the open spaces were.... I decided to use lines.... lots of lines... and a few circles/

I used lines in the borders too - Lots and lots of lines....

And then ran some circles into the center of the blocks , and even in the setting blocks on the sides..
I thought it turned out pretty cool, but the best part was seeing my clients face! She was happy. This is for her husband for his birthday and their anniversary. She was a smart cookie and married him on his birthday!!  What a great way to remember ( or not forget in my case) a date!!

Scrappy Quilts

The giveaway post is Here

A customer of mine is THE best at putting scrappy quilts together. She has a vision... and recently brought me two quilts to quilt...

Isn't this cool? She just started with the 2 16 patch blocks and kept it growing and growing.... I love it!!!

We did mostly a textural quilting on it, so that it didn't compete with the scrappiness of it. Plus it was going to sick friend, so we wanted it durable for using and washing.

In the 16 patch I did some continuous curves - it made the back look cool ;-)

Here is the second one. I really love that snowflake block! I did some outlining in those blocks, and crazy textural stuff in the rest of it.

These were really fun to quilt, but they gave me great ideas for my scraps... as my scraps are multiplying at a scary rate!!!
