Bee Sew Blessed - A UFO completion ... and!! Finished (or not) Friday!!

This is the final quilt that I will be able to make with these Bee Sew Blessed blocks....

A little history:

"The year was 2015... I was into my 30's Repro Prints, and 2 1/2 inch strips.....

Many blocks were made...

The year is 2023... I was so proud of my UFO-less status... until I moved a pile.....

I might have jinxed it... as this was the convo I had with myself:

Me : " I don't have UFO's"

Quilt Room : " Hold my thread"

I will conquer tho.... and I loaded all three of my RSC15 challenge quilts onto one piece of backing... that's thinking right??? But... alas - you can NOT bind all three at the same time... no matter how much wizardry you try...

However!!!  "

The year is NOW 2024.... and sigh!!!!

After loading what I thought was my LAST THREE QUILTS - I found these Random blocks!!! Made of the Scraps of the Scraps!!

The Sew Me Blog had this block pattern up back in 2014 - before Missouri Star Quilt came out with there tutorial. and with this one you just used scraps - I think with MSQC you use a jelly roll?  But!
I like the look no matter what!

I used all of my 30's scraps and made quilts in every color, but when I had strips left over - I just randomly made very colorful bocks.... which REALLY needed to be put into somthing - and so!!

It is now!! and it is Quilted, and sit down for this... IT IS BOUND!!  Bound with Mint Green and Cream!)

Whoo hoo - one more finish marked on my list!!! Now!! My Quiltygirl email is STILL down - so I am using my gmail instead - if any of you have sent me an email since Friday of LAST WEEK... they promise it is on the server - I just can't get to it yet... so I apologize... its been rough ;(

So tell me how your week was?

Did you have fun? Get some quilting in?

Spread a Little Sunshine... and!!! Finished ( or not ) Friday!!!

This may be the last of my RSC15 quilt tops... maybe - I reserve the right to be wrong on this... but!!

Have you ever googled the definition of the color yellow? Oh My it is a controversial color -

"Yellow, the lightest hue of the spectrum, signifies joy, happiness, betrayal, optimism, caution, idealism, imagination, hope, sunshine, summer, gold, philosophy, dishonesty, cowardice, jealousy, covetousness, deceit, illness, hazard and friendship."

Who Knew a color could have so many things about it?

I am going to choose Happy and Sunshine for this one!!

I am kind of happy to have this one finished!

And I am really glad we got photos in the sun - before our fog moved in!! I think Fall/Winter is here!!

That is about what I have to show for this week ;-) I helped a kid move... Ugh and Yay - Happy for him, but he's farther away. I have been quilting on some of the most amazing Client Quilts, and.... chasing my dog haha!! Well - we also had a QOV sew day ( photos coming soon) and we had a Lions Club Game Night Fundraiser AND a 70th anniversary dinner . ( The Lions club turned 70)

PS- I am way behind on my blog reading... so don't be scared if I show up in a really old post haha

Now it is your turn!!

Whats been going on in your world?

Inspire us all - or entertain us - or just show us whats up!!!

A Pink Attitude.... and Finished ( or not) Friday!!!

"Pink isn't just a color, it's an attitude!"

I will admit - I googled.... I needed help with a title so I wasn't boring  ( again) and then I went down a rabbit hole about the color pink....

I wondered how Pink was an attitude - and this is the definition I got... I kind of like it!!

"The state of mind represented by the color pink encourages individuals to cultivate a positive attitude, find joy in the small things, and radiate positivity to those around them."

So hopefully my Pink Quilt brings Positivity!!!!

This one is a part of my RSC2015 quilts... and I put all the pinks together for this one! Tada!!

I quilted all three of my RSC15 quilts - and this is the backing I used for them - It was so nice to use one back and one batt - but get three quilts quilted... I did use different pantos for each tho!! Too fun!!

How did your week go? Mine... WAY TO FAST!!  What happened to time slowing down??? We moved cattle, gathered horses, took some beef to market , rode horses, trained on a new( ish) one, made an airport run, quilted some of the most fun clients quilts... and played with the dog... oh the dog....

oh How I loved Puppy, and Puppy was just so well behaved... Puppy didn't get into too much trouble and if he did - I just picked him up... Bella... Not so much - that girl is FAST!!!

She is now 4 months old and weighs 22 pounds... I can still pick her up if needed - but holee cow she is squirmy - I love her... she needs a LOT of exercise!!

I teased my kids and said I was going to annoy them with cute pics of her - and they said go blog about it... so I will annoy you!!!

So there you go... Be Annoyed haha!!

Well it is Finished (or not) Friday!! so it is time to strut your stuff... show us what your week looked like....

A Red Finish... and!! Finished (or not) Friday

The year was 2015... I was into my 30's Repro Prints, and 2 1/12 inch strips.....

Many blocks were made...

The year is 2023... I was so proud of my UFO-less status... until I moved a pile.....

However!!!

RED is DONE!!!

I quilted this one with a fun swirly leafy all over designs - and in my attempt to get arts fartsy with the photos while windy and holding a puppy..... I got sidetracked..... she jumped on a log and decided it was just the perfect size for her... and there was NO more moving!

See? Perfect fit?

30's Rainbow scrap blocks

Me : " I don't have UFO's"

Quilt Room : " Hold my thread"

Because of course!!! I found some Blocks I had completely forgotten about....

I have ( of course) finished quite a few quilts with these blocks... but who knew I had even more in hiding!!!

The are from the 2015 RSC - and I found the pattern at Sew Me Blog - Be Blessed

I saw the blocks and said to *Me* Me!!! DO NOT PUT THOSE AWAY

ta da!!

The Pinks are now a top - Approx 48 x 48

I was thinking I could hang all three of them up together - but the wind was not cooperating...

Pink along with Yellow - Approx 36 x 48

And Red ( ish)   Approx 36 x 48

If I plan it right - I think I can make one back for all three quilts and quilt them together... I hope!!

I had a thought - but quickly dismissed it - but I still like the photo - I thought about combining Yellow and Red together.... but!! I didn't like it as much as I thought I would - so I am keeping them as two different tops - and then I will have THREE quilts!!

Go me

Take That Quilt Room.....  ( please don't hurt me 😍😏  )

I have a plan.... continued

I laugh, some of my friends tell me that you can't do anything Christmasy until after Thanksgiving.... and I say - it is my Christmas now - I am working on a bunch of Quilts from my Clients for Christmas. It changes the way you can show things!!  and!!

it gives me QDD - since I work on other's gifts it makes my brain just spin and spin with ideas - and then I need to sit and stitch something....  So - here is where I am on my Scrappy "I have a plan" blocks.....

See - the right section is now stitched together
( and there is plaid!!!)

And the left section is stitched together

and now I need to make it longer....
I'm still thinking on how I want that to look....

Of course - now that it is darker earlier
I have to do chores earlier,
(cuz I don't like the dark)
which should mean I have more evening stitching time

Right????

PS: It is Thankful November - and over on my photo blog I am trying to capture what I am thankful for each day.   http://alyciaclicks.blogspot.com/  Enjoy!!

I have a plan

now - sort of, sort of a winging it plan, that I can sort of see in my brain.... and I am working towards that goal..... slowly......

I keep finding myself running out of the Low Volume Fabrics
( that's a modern word for background - ha ha!!)

I thought I had a large bin of them - turns out I have been borrowing from that bin
It's the only scrap bin that is NOT overflowing - yep
the story of my life ( giggle)

I was trying to get a clear shot of my wall

and this turkey kept getting in the way
I threatened him - I told him he would make it on National Computer ( like tv) everywhere
if he didn't get out of the way......

In other news -
I have stitching a gazillion half squares in prep for

I have high hopes of reducing another 2 inch strip bin!

And Lastly -

My son's NFHS broadcast team entered a UA contest - please click on the link and vote for Platte Valleys Video ( on my screen it is on the left and titled : NFHS It Comes from Below UAPV)

You can vote everyday - and you know I am that mom - ha ha!!

Bloggers Quilts Festival - ROYGBIV

Here is my Second Entry for Bloggers Quilt Festival - in the ROYGBIV category:

It is from the 2014 Rainbow Scrap Challenge - and I am proud to announce it was finished before the new millennium!!  ( you know the 3000's ;-)  )

Every little heart is made of scraps
Each square is 3 1/2 inches of pure scrap!

I quilted it with Deb Geisslers Double Hearts Pantograph

And just in case you were wondering ...
nope - it did not use up all of my scraps !

Oh And!
This is an original design too
Here is the link to my pattern
if your interested you can use it too ;-)

Rainbow Scrappy Challenge update

I really really have been playing in the Rainbow Scrappy Challenge....
I am just wayyyy slower than most!

My original goal at the beginning of the year was to use my 30's prints scraps
And Bust them ( ALL!)

So  the last month or two was Orange and Reds
( don't hold me to the exact months - I get days confused real easy!)

I didn't have much Orange 30's
So I combined them with the Reds...

Then - I was out of large scrap piles so I started in putting my leftovers into the same blocks

And I ended up with 17 really scrappy ones
( number 17 is hiding outside the view finder - but I promise - Its there)

And then!!
This is my Conclusion of the 30's for this year

I ended up with
10 Red Blocks,
17 Purple
11 Green
13 Yellow
17 Pink
21 Blue
and of course the 17 mixups

And now....
I need to figure out what I want to do
Mix and Match
Color schemes
2 quilts, 7 quilts
6 quilts
( with 106 blocks that is WAY to big to make 1 quilt)

(PS - and THIS is why I have UFO's ....
although that pile is diminishing too!)

RSC Red's

I am a little late in the game on the Reds.... BUT!! I am getting there!

I have dug out all the Red 30's prints and they are all trimmed up to 2 1/2 inches!!!  I am ready to sit and do some stitching..... Which will have to wait just a bit - but I am ready!

I did make the executive decision to not include the Christmas 30's prints.  So I will have to come up with something for those - but, well, they didn't mix well with these.

My dog and I took a walk and when we came back she was on high alert
"Look Momma, those big dogs got out.... More are coming Momma!
I'll protect you"

She loves me that way

This guy was my riding buddy
I laughed because
I haven't mastered the art of sitting on a moving animal
while shooting a moving animal

RSC Saturday - Light Blues

In my quest to use my 30's prints for my RSC2015 - I have found.... I used all the blues.

Not to worry - there is still more blue in my stash.... so I played. I love playing in scraps!!

I Layed the strips out and decided on a length to cut them

I made a huge pile

And this is what's left....

What am I making??  I don't know - but I really like the quilt I made like this:

I backed it with fleece
And even last night -
I snuggled under it,
While my husband kept opening more windows to cool  the house down
