Our Sew Day and MORE QOV's and Ohio Stars!!

 My Sew group meets about every Month and we work on some QOV project. We have so many amazing quilters in our group that someone agrees to teach us a new block or a new idea. It is a lot of fun.

February was my month - so I cut 60 of the QOV Ohio Star blocks for everyone to stitch on. 

And we also had show and Tell. I didn't get photos of all the quilts turned in - but Charlene took a few for me to share.

Liz - She made her a top with Ohio stars  and I think it is pretty cool:

And Deb Finished her Stars Like Spaghetti!!   Her Mom was one of the Original QOV'ers with me, and she passed away a few years ago. Deb inherited her fabrics and she said she made this from all of her moms stash .. Too cool!!

We stitched 35 of the 60 blocks I had cut because WE HAD A PRESENTATION!!

and that is just way cooler than sitting and stitching haha!!

We had Three Marine, 2 Army and 1 Navy.  It was an awesome day!!!

In my mind I was going to keep track of the Numbers of Quilts we have awarded this year - but you all know that I will fail... however this - brings us to 29 and 3 shared,so can I just say 32?  and not have to break it out?

My Pile Project start

 You may remember - I found a pile of fabrics???

Then I went to a sew Day and someone was giving away an American Patchwork Quilting magazine.... and I started flipping thru it.....

and found the perfect project for these Fabrics:

I said to myself - Myself.. Make a block a Day, and I did for 6 days, and then!! I had to re-organize the house again.... Okay not really - but!!

I ( Really husband and 2 kids.. I supervised) moved a huge desk unit that we didn't really utilize other than a place to pile things... and we listed it to sell.... move out.... bless someone else. And that made me sort all the piles that were on it.. Found a pair of sunglasses... But mostly paperwork that I just hadn't filed/shredded yet....

I find it interesting to see the things that we *meant* To put away, but life goes to fast... and its still there. I moved one of the flatter desks we have into that office space and Oh! My! Goodness!!! So far I love it... much cleaner, and !! A place for my computer.... We will see what is next!

30's Rainbow scrap blocks

Because of course!!! I found some Blocks I had completely forgotten about....

I have ( of course) finished quite a few quilts with these blocks... but who knew I had even more in hiding!!!

The Pinks are now a top - Approx 48 x 48

I was thinking I could hang all three of them up together - but the wind was not cooperating...

If I plan it right - I think I can make one back for all three quilts and quilt them together... I hope!!

I had a thought - but quickly dismissed it - but I still like the photo - I thought about combining Yellow and Red together.... but!! I didn't like it as much as I thought I would - so I am keeping them as two different tops - and then I will have THREE quilts!!

The 4th Hawaiian....

 Progress on the Hawaiian front!!

Quilt top NUMBER FOUR is now together!!!     and up on the design wall - it is being my spring decorations right now!

The pattern is called Wiggle Time   and its a great and easy pattern!

I worked with the scraps I had threes of - and got it to this size... which is big enough. ( don't make me measure it - too many details haha!!)

I really liked the teal.. reminds me of waves on the water... and maybe there is a dolphin or a whale in there! Ohh... maybe that is what I should quilt on it when I get to this one... hmmmm

Number 5 has been started!! But! My husband took Friday off - and he has been making us work VERYVERY hard... I didn't make enough progress to show you what I have started on.

Also!! ELEVEN Quilts went to my Pathways Hospice.... its kind of nice that my hair cut place is not to far from there, so my goal has been to deliver quilts when I get my hair cut....Two birds and all that.  They loved this last batch ;-)  its fun to see them look at them all.
