DNP QOV and more

 I love abbreviations when I know what they mean!!

Our QOV group had a sew day, our quilt Guild had a sew day, and we are working with Chevron doing a sew day - and THIS is what we have been working on: 

This is the first one topped - I think we have 7 more in progress that All of us have been stitching on!! SO FUN!! and so easy to teach to folks that are new to quilting

We also made some of these blocks ( its a dark photo) These were inspired by the Many Hand Many Hearts Block drive. We sent our blocks and a few tops for Hospice there - and then started on these in RWB

I just kind of played with a layout but we have more blocks - so when we really get to putting them together - we will make it * pretty*

We also had a presentatation - I wasn't able to go - I had to fly out of state - so my amazing friends and co stitchers Did the presentation - Connie and Deb were AMAZING!!

Now I have to figure out what my goals for September will be!! ( yes I know its half over, but I haven't been here so I don't think it counts haha)

Nine Patch Square Dance progress

 Got a few more blocks made - but!! I think I am done now. 

I had lots of other color chosen, but as I started going I kind of liked the look of just the pinks and blues - so that's where I stayed... And now I have fabric for another project ( oops) 

Got all the blocks made - and they are trimmed... onward to the Sashing!!

Look!! My babies love my quilt. Its my Popsicle Sticks Quilt...

And my Sons puppy likes it too. ( so does Daisy but she was a little upset the other two girls stole the couch)

Nine Patch Square Dance

 Oh looky what is at the bottom of one of my piles.... I am really NOT that unorganized - well - maybe I am... 

I started this one in 2023!! whatttt!!!

The start... and the Stall  You can see here - and nothing has changed haha!

In my defense - I was cleaning out my parents house and having to move all of their stuff, and putting it on the market, and I think that cutting fabric must have been my therapy at the time. So it worked its magic - I think I am still sane. ( Please don't ask my husband tho okay?)

Anyways - this is what I have: 

And this is where the pattern came from - American Patchwork and Quilting  - maybe 2021?

Since this is not any where close to being ready to top - I see the progress on this one slow my pile clearing down... but!!

I think I am going to focus on it for a minute and see how many blocks I can make.

I kinda like the colors I have chosen. 

Also - we had some housework to do. 

No one told us ( or if they did I ignored them) that owning a house means constant projects.

the wood that they used at the bottom of these stairs had rotted away - and instead of just caulking it, we tore it out, re sealed it, fixed the concrete and added a new finish to it.

And by We - I mean the dogs and I supervised as K did all the work. But I am taking the credit as I nagged him until it was done. That counts right?

My Pile Project start

 You may remember - I found a pile of fabrics???

Then I went to a sew Day and someone was giving away an American Patchwork Quilting magazine.... and I started flipping thru it.....

and found the perfect project for these Fabrics:

I said to myself - Myself.. Make a block a Day, and I did for 6 days, and then!! I had to re-organize the house again.... Okay not really - but!!

I ( Really husband and 2 kids.. I supervised) moved a huge desk unit that we didn't really utilize other than a place to pile things... and we listed it to sell.... move out.... bless someone else. And that made me sort all the piles that were on it.. Found a pair of sunglasses... But mostly paperwork that I just hadn't filed/shredded yet....

I find it interesting to see the things that we *meant* To put away, but life goes to fast... and its still there. I moved one of the flatter desks we have into that office space and Oh! My! Goodness!!! So far I love it... much cleaner, and !! A place for my computer.... We will see what is next!
