Playing in the Plaids

I got back to my fast easy 16 patch blocks - and !

Ta da!!

Well - the wind sure doesn't help me take photos - but! I made 12 blocks - and I think it is a cute sized quilt.

These are all shirt plaids. A while back in my yonder years, I owned a clothing company. It has since been sold, sold again and now has a new name - but!! I started it haha!! ( I was the first Maternity Clothing company on the internet!!!)

But back then... when you sampled fabrics, they would send you a swatch of the fabrics to see if you liked them - and one of my manufacturers loved to send me 1/2 or whole yards... and I did not complain.

When I sold the company I got to keep the samples - and ta da!! My Plaid stash was born!!!

now!! it is my duty to use them ! ( right?  I mean I can use that as an excuse to not do laundry right???)

Love the pastel feel of this quilt. Very pretty. (Yes, any excuse not to do laundry is completely 100% valid).

You have such an interesting history Alycia! Love the plaids, and yes you have an obligation to use them. ;)

Wow, a maternity clothing company!! Now days the young gals just wear their regular clothes and stretch them, LOL. Nice finish of plaids.

What a wonderful way to put those 'samples' to good use! A very pretty quilt top!

Wow, that's a lot of fabric for a manufacturer to send. What a great way to build your plaid stash and a cute quilt top made from it all! :)

A super way to use those pastel plaids!

So interesting! My husband had one of the first subscription services on the internet (Federal Register and other government documents collected and searchable). Fun to know one of the other early pioneers. Love your quilt and any excuse not to do laundry is valid, but sewing is the best excuse.

Love your pastel plaids, they make a beautiful quilt. I don't think I have any pastel plaids, yet I love pastels.
