Remember back when I said I didn't have any UFO's and then I found one?
Apparently that happens a lot around here!
At the beginning of this year, I decided to go through the tops that I have made and make sure they are all quilted. Lo and Behold.... I found this 9 patch and snowball top that I had made back when I started quilt piecing!!!!
I very clearly remember buying the book with my aunt while we were shopping for fabric for a Quilt retreat ... in Wyoming!!!! At that particular retreat I was making a quilt for my Middle son.... So I am guessing I finished this top about 12-13 years ago????
I must have put it in the pile and it didn't yell at me!
NOW!!!
It is FINISHED!!
I decided I needed to just feather the day away - so I feather Quilted it - and I believe - that was the right choice. And! If it wasn't ---- to late now.... its done, and bound!!
YAY!!
now!! it is your turn!! Our linky party is growing - so continue to spread the word. I am learning of all sorts of new blogs!!

Love the colors and a finish after 12 years! I would not have thought of feathers but they are gorgeous against the linear blocks.
Nice and big, colorful, feathered and finished!!! Congrats!!!
What an absolutely gorgeous finish. Love everything about it. Kudos to you, Alycia, on completing it. It brightens the room :-)
The 'old' quilt looks beautiful! What a nice surprise to find in the stack. Happy stitching!
that is a great pattern- really like the colors
Funny it was made all those years ago because the colors of the fabrics make it modern looking today. Very pretty.
Awesome UFO finish, Alycia!!! How many MORE are in hiding? :P

It's a thrill to bring a long ago UFO to bed (literally)! Looks like you made it yesterday though so you were good at choosing fabric right from the beginning. I'm wondering: was that design from the NP+SB book by Elsie Campbell? I'm making one of the quilts in it for an RSC project.
I am so impressed! This is one of the first quilts you pieced??? Fabulous! You definitely have talent! I do not have photos of my first pieced quilt, but my corners and points did not match up as beautifully as yours!!! And my blocks were MUCH bigger. :) And now you have no more unfinished quilts?!? I think there's a crown somewhere waiting for you!
So pretty and cheery and yes the feathers were a great choice!
Lovely bright 9 patch and snowball quilt. Overall feathers add great texture.
Love that quilt! How fun to finish a UFO you didn’t know you had 😉
What a fabulous finish! I'm sure it's happy to be finished and out of the WIP pile, even if it hadn't been yelling for attention :)
Lovely feathers Alycia on that pretty quilt!
That's a fun quilt and a great pattern! I love it. Congrats with the finish!
Your quilt and quilting is just amazing, well done!
Good things are worth the wait. What a beautiful quilt, the feathers look fantastic.
Done. That's a nice word for mid-February.
You are right -- it looks good with feathers all over it. I keep looking for a perfect quilt to use up some smaller pieces of fabric. Something like this would be terrific if I have enough (although, I don't need to make it so big!) I've been having fun working on the mystery quilt you've been sharing. Need to finish sewing the blocks together.
Feather quilting is perfect on your beautiful quilt! Congrats on finishing a UFO you didn't even know you had.
What a great find and finish! Love the scrappy feel to your quilt! The quilting is perfect!
Hi Alycia, what a gorgeous quilt - those are all my favourite colours :-) and the feathers look wonderful. Congrats!
