The Quilts of 2022

I am never good at the year end round ups... I am glad I have photo proof as to what year things were created, because dates... elude me!!!!

I did run My Top Nine thing on Instagram and this is what it came up with:

and I like those... at least I remember them all... but two are not finishes... so that's kind of a bummer....

Oh! Well maybe not - now I have more to finish for Finished ( or not) Fridays!!!

I also made Photo Albums - so that At a Glance I could see all that I did in 2022.

It looks like I finished 54 - 51 of them were mine... 

I added the 3 quilts I Quilted for QuiltDivaJulie ( and I bound!! oh ya - extra points) that we sent off to Mercyful Quilts as part of the Positivity Quilt drive.

I also took 40 Quilts to Hospice - some of those are in this album, some aren't - they were ones I had pieced years ago - and just didn't think to document them. Now I am sad about that... I guess a better goal for 2023..

I either made the Whole thing, did the Quilting, or put the blocks together ( and then Quilted it).  There were 16 of those.  

and Thats what I know about 2022 haha!!

Baseball Gingham/Buffalo Plaid Finish and.... Finished ( or not) Friday!!!

Happy Friday!

For some reason this week I am all messed up on what day it is... I blame the snow, the shoveling of the snow, and more snow haha!!!

I have a Start to Finish!!

Remember those Buffalo plaid/Gingham Quilts that are so cute? Well I saw the Video from The Fat Quarter shot and it said you could make the whole top, cut to finish in 3 hours... and guess what? 

They were RIGHT!!!

I made mine a bit bigger tho.... and Ta Da!!!

I think I better go take photos in the Sunshine when it appears... the Snow seems to change the color a bit....

I used a Blue, Red, and Two cream prints for the front

You wanted to see our snow right? Its no where near as bad as others, but! It was heavy snow and I was happy about that  ( moisture to the pasture!!)

Remember that Pile Project I told you I had to work on?   All these Baseball Fabrics were piled too - haha!! 

Apparently I am a good pile maker!

And I had fun Quilting it too - I knew that it was a busy quilt, so it mostly needed a fun pattern.

There you go - A baseball quilt... Ready for Baseball Season

16 Patches Finish and Finished ( or not) Friday

This is the second to the LAST Finished ( or not) Friday for 2022!!!! Last week you all had a Ton of finishes.... shall we keep it going???

I started this 16 patch quilt back in August - it was inspired by an Antique photo.... and of course, I had to do it in Patriotics

but then...  I wondered how I should quilt it - and ... this is what I came up with!

I chose to load it longways, and quilt in long rows.

The Top and the bottom have patriotic scenes (I think they are Judy Lyon designs - she shared them on the QOV members page and I thought they were cool)

and in the Middle two white rows I quilted the words,

In the Colored rows I quilted Stars and flags...

And Ta-da!!! The finish!!!

One more week to finish on more item for the year.... go go go!!

Plaid Pile Project quilts and !!! Finished ( or not) Friday!!!

 Yep. I am still working thru the piles.... this pile of plaids ( the PPP quilts) I found in October and ended up with two quilt tops.... and now!!

The Finishes!!

Number one!

Please note.. It is bound.... oh ya!!! and it is plaid ....

and Number two!!!

These were fun and fast - kind of Lasagna Quilt Style ( Atkinson designs) and kind of Jelly Roll Race...

They used the whole pile of fabrics I had out, and each quilt can out to be 50 x 54 inches - so not super big, lap sized? maybe.

I had visions of the gorgeous mountains behind us, and the plaids just glowing in the sun...

and the wind....

Well - it had other ideas.... so 

we had to find some sheltered places instead. Which was fine. By the way - we hiked here this day... and the temps said 35 - but the temps forgot to remind me of the wind chill... I am not sure it was above 7 deg with the wind!! But it was gorgeous!!

Another Stepper - and !! Finished ( or not) Friday!!

 And another one done, and another one done, and another one bites the dust.....

Can you tell what era music my husband has had on lately? and did you know that I can hear what he plays while I quilt???  Don't tell him - I am afraid he will start playing songs that tell me to buy him stuff.....

I think this may be my last Stepper quilt top made in 2022..... and all have been quilted.... and don't do a spit-take - but!!! All of them have been bound... I KNOW !!!!!

I had fun with these little stepper quilts this year - I think I made eleven of them?   And I am not sure I see a dent in my stash... wasn't that supposed to happen?   Maybe I will try again next year with the RSC challenge with another easy fast block.... I am on the lookout!!

Long May She Wave Finish!!! and !! Finished ( or not) Friday!!

Oh my Gosh! it has been a crazy week and a half for me and my family - but I think... we now have all the laundry done, groceries have been purchased, and maybe... we are back to our routine life haha!!

Let's start with the Finish!!!!

My LONG MAY SHE WAVE Mystery came to a close Wednesday... and now... its time to show off my Quilt!!! I tried to keep it under wraps for the past 8 weeks/.. but I need to brag now!!!

Ta- Da!!!!  All those flying geese turned into something PATRIOTIC!!!

Just in time for Veterans Day!! and more Quilt of Valor Awards!!!

now.. on to the things that kept us busy....

We had to get dressed up. ....

All for a good cause tho!!!

We finally got to celebrate my son and .... his wife! ( how did my baby get old enough to have one of those????)

And now we wait for the Professional photos - but... I just couldn't wait to share haha!!!

And lastly - a few of you said the Quilt hangers were out of stock - I had to order more yesterday - and they were back.....that means I am up to hanging 24 quilts!!!! I had no idea I had that many to hang!!! Most of mine get given away or sold... or so I thought!!!!

A Patriotic Steppers Finish!! and .....Finished ( or not) Friday!!!

 Maybe you remember at one of my QOV sew days we all sat down and made Stepper blocks from my HUGE pile of 3 1/2 inch strips.....

Well - One is moving forward!!!

It is pieced and Quilted... and that s A FINISH on this one for me - it now moves on to the Binders!!

Its super fun, super scrappy and Super Patriotic - a total win in my book!

A Little Floral Lap Quilt and !!! Finished ( or not) Friday!!!

Happy Happy Friday!!!!

We were invited to a persons house for a Anniversary dinner of our Lions Club. And the Lady who invited us has this AMAZING house.... She even gave us a tour. I was trying to think of a Hostess Gift to take, as she really went out of her way. She had 20 of us to feed and host....

Anyways - every time I see her she is wearing something flowery. So... in one of my piles  ( See I really am working on them) was ( were?)  6 inch floral squares.

I thought , Small little lap quilt, or even something she could keep in the car for winter.....

I stitched them all up, added a border, flannel Floral backing and:

Ta Da!!!

I quilted it with flowers too ;-)

Isn't that  pretty Flannel backing?

I did wash it too, I think I like to wash them to make sure nothing is going to happen to them - and they are ready to use.

I gave it to her, and then she said... someday you should see my antique quilts.... Okay!!! I'm in!!

So!! What is you favorite 5 inch square pattern/quilt block to make?  My go to is the Churn Dash... but I need more in my favorite list as another quilter just gifted me a LOT of 5 inch square packs!!

Plaid Pile Project Finish!!!! and!! Finished ( or not) Friday!!

 My Pile Project Plaid Quilt is!!!  Finished!!!!

Ta Da!!! The blocks are 9 inches I think - ( 5 inch square/ 2 1/2 inch Strips)

the Quilt is 34 x 42 inches

Quilted in Straight Lines and Zig Zags!!

And I bound it in a Denim color.

And then I hung it with my NEW MARGARITA CLIPS... that way!!! I can always be dreaming of Margaritas on the beach when the winter comes and the snow blows.... which of course... ( don't hate me)  I LOVE!!!  ...but still... Margaritas.....

And look at the Fun Plaid I found for the back!!! Its a yummy Flannel!!

Be on the lookout... I'm still digging in to the pile - Who knows What I will find next....

PS - This will go in my Quiltygirl Etsy store just in case you know someone that needs a little Plaid in their life....
