Gratitude, A QOV, and !!! Finished !! ( or not) Friday

I think I will start with Todays Gratitude Photo:

"There is a calmness to a life lived in Gratitude, A quiet Joy"

Do you notice that when you start your day focused on good things - the day is just better?

And now to the QOV - Connie made this one and I am SO in love with it!!!!  I even asked for the pattern!! ( I am not a pattern girl.... but wow!! love this one!)

I did simple quilting on it, but kind of watery looking - I thought that would make it look like the flags were in the wind... Isn't it awesome. And my Gratitude - I get to count this as a finish - and!!! I don't have to bind it!!!   ( my rules haha)

And now!! Finished ( or not) Friday!!

The Quilt that Needs A Name and!!! Finished ( or not) Friday

This quilt is NOW a Finished!!!  Quilt,  and! I love the contrast of the colors! But - I have been calling it the Teal quilt - and it sounds lonely that way. It needs a Name... Suggestions??

Oh ya! And you know I took it hiking with us! It had to be introduced to the whole world.

But don't worry - after its photo shoot it went straight back into the Car - I kept it super clean, as it will go on Etsy soon.

I just love all those fun fabrics in there - they are mod and crazy, and swirly and... Teal!! with Hot pink and purple - A perfect combination right??

All right - if you have a name!! Shoot it off to me - give it an identity!

Now!!
Time for Finished ( or not) Friday!!
Link up and show us what you got!!

You know what - I am starting in the third year of hosting this... My first time taking over from Myra was 8/23/2019  - WOW!!

Alright - so !! Why!!??!! aren't all my UFO's done????

Happy Blue and Yellow Star Quilt

Alright - no takers for the blocks and they don't go with Joyful's color scheme... maybe that means I need to create something with them....

Blue and Yellow must be the color scheme around here tho! I got the top Pieced and quilted in January - and then of course, the binding languished around for a while... but now!

Oh Ya! I mean I had light blue thread in the machine... I couldn't pass up the opportunity!!! It is Bound:

And I figured out how to hang it from the deck without a boy holding it. This was a sad moment in my life for real - I miss my boys....

I know most of you are quilters - but - just in case you know someone who needs to add this quilt to their house...

I listed it in my Etsy Store. https://www.etsy.com/shop/AlyciaQuiltyGirl
It is 80 x 80 - so a good sized quilt - I think It would brighten up a room!

Changes: My husband is now going back to work a set number of days and they all rotate - so Puppy and I are on our own today. But he Texted me to see if I had the chores done and so... because I have been known to be a pain - my response was... Wait - it was my day to do chores?  Hee hee hee

The Red Quilt

This is the year of the binding!  I admit - I love to piece, to quilt, to make the binding.... and then...

Squirrel....I am on to  new project and I forget the binding. My dear friend stepped in...she finished the binding on this Red and Cream quilt.  And made me want to finish more!!

Red and Cream Quilt - for sale in my Etsy store

So yesterday I had a notion to finish a few more things, and I think I actually might have started a few more things!!  Who knows.... but I was so excited that this one was done!!

I did add it to my Etsy Store.

Here is a little close up of the blocks. There is so much red goodness in each one - they are fun!!

And of course the back - you have to see the quilting detail - that's always fun too!

Pink and Green

I live in a house of all boys, we have boy dogs, boy horses ( okay a few girls... but they aren't real talkative) and everyone loves brown and blue.... what is a girl to do?

Use Pink and Green in a quilt top.... Yep - that's what we do!

This is a free pattern on Quiltville.com called Weed Whacker I believe?
Little Bit made it a few years ago in Red White and Blue and we loved it.
He renamed his Scrap Whacker

and ... The back!

My dear friend is binding it for me... as! We! Speak!  I am so excited... she likes to bind ;-)

Since it is starting to get hot, maybe this cool forest picture will speak to you !  Enjoy your week!!

Western Table Topper

I made one of these Table Toppers for our house. Of course, when cutting it - I had the brilliant idea to make two - one for us and one to sell. Of course, it always takes longer to finish the second one right?

In this case, lets not ask exactly how long -if you don't mind!

Anyways - it is now finished. And I still like it as much as the first one!

aren't those fun prints?   I will admit - I have a rather large collection of Western/Cowboy fabrics. AND! I have a hard time cutting into them. I really am glad I cut into them this time. My table topper in on my antique table that I inherited from my Grandmother. I think it adds to its antique'ness ;-)

I enjoyed quilting it - I used a lot of back and forth lines. I thought it would make it lay flat, and be easy to wash, without taking away from the fabrics.

The Table topper is in my Etsy store - the link is over at the right.

And now... for your lovely tree shot... you were really needing another one correct? ;-)

36 Patch Baby Quilt - Finished!

This quilt was started when Crazy Mom Quilts decided to do a 36 patch quilt a long. I really wanted to join in, and I found these lovely bright fabrics to do so.  The more I pieced - the more I LOVED the bright colors.

I finally got the top made, and then got a little stumped for a backing. I later found a light blue that I thought looked very nice. and a little calming to the quilt.... and now.... I am finished!!

I was lucky and took it out to photograph BEFORE the storm rolled in! That was great... as there is a LOT of snow on my deck right now!

The fabrics are really fun and bright. I can imagine this being used as an I spy type quilt with a child. It would keep them busy for a LONG time!

Here is the back - a nice light blue.
This Quilt is for sale in my Etsy Store along with some others that are all finished and ready to be loved!

Another Listing

I was asked why I decided to open an Etsy shop - so I thought I would sum it up into one word..

COLLEGE

My oldest son - I love him - but he has refused to stay home with me until he is 90 - or I am 90 - whichever comes first! It's quite disheartening I tell ya..... These young whippersnappers that won't do anything their parents tell them.... *sigh*

He has finally chosen the University he thinks he wants to attend... so we did some math... and well.... I like my bubble - its free and cheap in here!  But in the real world.. not so much.

So I thought I would try my talent at selling a few things - and some things that I will never get around to using... So there you go.

I just posted this quilt to the shop:

And I will be adding some more patterns today... some fun ones ;-)
