Snow Day : Pattern Links: And did you see Snow day!!!!

Oh yay!!! We have a snow day...

I , well, sort of messed up the sleeping in part for my boys though. So far, they don't hate me!   I put my phone to silent except for my family numbers, and so.... I sort of missed the snow day call - and woke children up.

In my defense, the first call was only a one hour delay - so that wasn't a bad deal, the second call.... that was for the whole day ... oops!!  Ah well - THEY can help their dad with chores, and I will make the hot chocolate!!

A LOT of you loved Julies yellow quilt - To give you grief ( cuz its a SNOW DAY) we have been making them for 2 years now ....  but a lot of you asked for the pattern.... because I love you all - here you go:

Blue and Yellow Pattern   I put it in my Craftsy store ( FOR FREE) and you can download it and it is always there!!!   Hope that helps you all.... You that emailed - I'll be emailing back today  ...cuz I have boys to do the chores!! Yippee!!

I am still working on this Basketball photo stuff!  That kid ( 44 Blue) is mine. Look at him just move in there and steal the ball!   We like that.

You all have a great day - I am off to quilt, and watch the snow come down, and torture my kids - not necessarily in that order!!  Oh ya, and have some hot chocolate!

The Mysteries ...Continued

The Mysteries are in full swing and a LOT of fun!!

So first, The Bonnie Mystery.... I am a little slower that I wanted to be, and am still on Clue 2 ... I just about had it finished, and then the boys needed shirts ironed before we headed out to church and!!!

To the Nutcracker!!!!   My cousin ( in law, by marriage - but I am totally claiming her) was in the Nutcracker in Fort Collins and we all went to watch her - HOW FANTASTIC!!!  She played 3 different characters and so so amazing!!

So - My ironing went from Mystery pieces to shirts!!

I wanted to show you my oops first!! I read the directions, re-read the directions and proceeded to cut my pieces all 1/2 inch short!!

Good thing I have a stash -
I re-cut and got to stitching....

Today - I will finish Clue 2!!! That's my goal!

On to the Alycia Mystery!!
It is all done now!!
So - sadly I won't be accepting any new people into the Mystery group until January when we start prepping for the next one. So, mark your calendars to come join in then.
This is called
Stars a Waving!

And of course,
I had to do one in plaids as well
Ha ha!!

The pattern can be found in my Craftsy store
The link is in the side bar too

Hope you all had a great weekend too
and lots of Mystery Quilt progress!!

The Quilter in Me

I am going to preface this post with - you do it too - and you know it - I am just crazy enough to admit it......

Ready....

I might take my camera to my kids practices and games - there's always a chance to practice photography - and I am watching my kid and I am not really paying as much attention to him....

as I am the wall behind him

Wouldn't that be a cool quilt?  Those muted colors? And the blocky chain?  and Oh the quilting that would show..... Mmm Mmm - Yep - that there is a quilt on my bucket list!!

oh - and I sort of caught my kid - he is 44....

Design Wall Monday - The Mysteries Continue

I had a lot of quilty-ness going on this week and I LOVED IT!!!!

The Alycia Mystery progressed...... and I ironed fabrics for the Bonnie Mystery... AND!!! I ironed the right colors!

Ready.... Here is the progress on the Bonnie Mystery.  I did not finish the whole step - which sits just right with me - Sunday - was our Quilt of Valor sew day and Holy Moly!!!  Our group bound 25 quilts, I trimmed a lot of them for them to bind.  We played, we cut, we ate..... it's all good!!!

You might have guessed... I am doing my mystery in plaids.... yep - Plaid number a gazillion ( ha ha)

I have 1/3 of the clue done
The solid grey and the red plaid funky geese!
I'm ready to keep on moving this week

And now on to the Alycia Mystery..... This is Clue 4...
We are getting closer.

We also got  a little time outside...

A finish for Friday!

I cant quite remember when I made this top , but I did. Then I put it in my To Be Quilted pile.

In January I made a silent goal - that I would like to empty my To Be Quilted pile - and this one came up next!!

And this morning - It is Finished!!! Yay me!

I think that I made it in 2012 - but Seeing as how I thought yesterday was still Wednesday - I am not sure I would trust myself on that one!

I quilted it with stars and swirls

And I remember thinking it used lots of scraps,.....

But I know it didn't empty my scrap bins - I think they are never ending!

And just because you need an outdoor photo:
We found this when hiking west of Fort Collins
And I want to go back and take my family Christmas photos there!

Oh - and - I have another blog - I always thought it would be more of a business blog - however, I sort of ignored it. So I started a challenge to blog in it every day for December - so if you are bored - go check it out ;-)

And another UFO bites the dust

As a part of our RSC color challenge - I really dug into the blues, and I started a LOT of stuff I didn't finish.... So in cleaning up my sewing area - I found really long strips of blue that are now:

A quilt top!!! It measures 40 x 50 - and I think I am going to leave it that size and just quilt it up!!
Yay Me

UFO Catch up: Faux Flying Geese

Sunday it was so very cold in our area, so I convinced my family that it was game day - and set them up playing board games and folding laundry - and then I told them that my machine was neglected....

And I finished a UFO!!! YAY me!!

Remember this one?
The Faux Flying Geese?
It was made with all the Cast offs on a Pineapple Blossom quilt
that my oldest son has claimed.

It was only 52 ( or 53) by 53
and I wanted it just a tad bit bigger .
I stitched up some of the leftovers from this quilt
and put them into the borders.

And Ta - Da!!
Here it is!!

It is now downstairs awaiting its turn to get a backing
Do you think I should use plaid?

( Boy I really crack myself up!)

And just in case you missed a little fall
Here you go:
It is now snow covered
