A Patriotic Panel Quilt and ! Finished ( or not) Friday!!

Happy Happy Friday!! I hope your week has been good to you!!

Sometimes they seem to just fly by!!

This week - I was able to get this Quilt Quilted up - Its a pretty cool little piece of Cheater fabric?  and so simple to add borders too. It will be going to Hospice for A Veteran in their care.

I quilted it with Looping Stars - and My Friend Julie will be binding it, and taking it to the Care center. I always like Teamwork - I think it spreads the love a little!!!

It is Spring - or trying to be, and you know - our to do list seems to get long in the spring. The weather is good, its not tough to be outside ALL day - but I saw this and laughed... as our steer went thru the fence on the alleyway.  He didn't do it on purpose, Kinda, sorta, but he was scratching his belly and kind of just found a hole......

Also with spring - its time to check a few trails. This one at Devils Backbone was a great one, and perfect to do before the Rattlesnakes come awake.  I don't like it in the summer for the heat and the snakes.... but my GIRLS!!! they did so good - this was their first hiking *Outing* together.

They did amazing - they met Bikers, hikers, a few dogs, and some little kids. Bella ( the black one) was shocked that people came that little... she was all wiggly and waggly.  Daisy - well we learned that Daisy needs a little more personal space on the trail with *strange men and dogs*  She didn't do anything dangerous, but when a male hiker got closer to us she started to growl,   So we all moved off the trail quite a ways and let the hiker pass. She got better as more hikers came around - but she is not as waggly haha!

I now know what else I need to train on.

Alright - Enough about ME!!! It is your turn!!

So the front of the quilt is cheater fabric? Wow it looks just like strings. Devils Canyon looks like a fun trail. Wonder if the old man and I could hike it . . .

I didn't know they made panels that look so quiltlike! The borders are perfect for it, too. So glad you had a good hike, and your puppies did so well! Happy Friday!

What a fantastic cheater cloth! Of course it has fantastic quilting too! Your get away steer reminds me of the time I was pulling weeds out front with my back to the road bent over like one of those old lady "ornaments" some weird folks put in their gardens. A car or two went by on our country road and honked and I wondered what they were honking at. Well, I stood up and looked behind me and there was a bull that got away from the neighboring farm. YIKES! Glad he didn't think my behind was a good target. Sweating profusely I crept ever so slowly with baby steps up to the house and thank goodness that bull didn't follow!

At first I thought that's not a panel but I soon realized my mistake. That cheat cloth is so well done and it makes a great quilt. Love the quilting too. I laughed at the ranching picture. So true but so funny. Lots of memories in that picture. Great picture of the girls. Enjoy! ;^)

Beautiful quilt...would never suspect a cheater cloth and especially beautiful photo of your girls. What a spot for a hike! Glad to hear they both did well.

That is great "cheater" fabric. I sure thought it was string pieced! What a great finish and a great hike too!

Cheater panel or not, it still turned out beautifully. Looks like a very cool hike. Sounds like the puppies did pretty well.

Hi Alycia, I finally made the party! Not that I've had much to share. That is great for a cheater quilt. Panels are great - if I can get them finished! Fast easy borders would have been so much easier ;-) Your girls are awesome - everyone is a work-in-progress. Take care and good luck with the chores.

Your quilt for Hospice is such a beautiful gesture.
How sweet that Bella and Daisy had their first hiking outing together!
Sounds like they did great overall.

Happy Sunday!

I find it "funny" that the pit bull looking pup is the VERY FRIENDLY one and the herding dog is not so much to strangers, well at least strange men and dogs. I just love a good dog. I now own an American bulldog, his name is Mr. Magoo. He is a nut, and is VERY EXUBERANT with anybody. He likes people and dogs, he has history with kids, so I am very careful around smaller people. But he is mostly a good boy. :D Hugs, Kara
