I got scrapped!!!
I was talking with a guild member who had bags of scraps left over and .... she gifted them to me!!!
After sorting and flattening and playing and dreaming....
I have color piles!! It is amazing to me what happens when you flatten the material - All of this was in two bags, The colors I sorted and flattened and they fit in one bucket. The Black and Grey - I am still flattening... But!!
I LOVE IT ALL!!! I am so excited to add to my blocks with these.
My husband helped me sort a bit while we talked to one of our kids - he laughed at me, but so understood how much fun it is to get new stuff.
And then!!! For our RR Block exchange - I had to pull out the 1 1/2 inch strip bin - that was fun too. I haven't looked in there for a while...
Boy was that a mess too - I decided to pull out Greens - Our bee member wanted spool blocks with gradating colors - in all the same color family. I had a lot of Green in there. But I couldn't tell that at first, once I started pulling.... I had A LOT!!!
Kind of cool little spools right? But also - now I don't want to put my scraps away.... uh oh - another start may be happening.....
Could there be more hours in the day? Oh - and I was summoned to Jury Duty Monday - we have a one day/One trial system - so if you don't get chosen you don't have to come back.
Out trial was postponed so I got let go - but that was a lot of people called in. and its funny because each person has these HUGE excuses as to why they can't serve. One of the guys was telling us all about why he couldn't be there. He said you get it right? and just to be snarky - I said no - this is the most exciting thing to happen to me.......
He was not sure where to go with that....
Off to go play with my fabrics

Haha on having your hubby join in your scrappy fun! Looks like a great start on your spools. We can get out of jury duty because of our age now, and that is fine with me. I used to drive into downtown Houston to sit most of the day waiting to be chosen, and I don't miss that. We don't live in Houston anymore, but the smaller town we live close to would probably be more interesting!
Very cute spool blocks! My scraps are sorted by color and still out of control. That must mean there are too many scraps. LOL
Love your response to the whiney man! The spools are very nice and original! Happy stitching!
I think your snarky response was well-served! Congrats on getting scrapped LOL. I love your spool blocks. I have tons of strips and I may just consider making spools at some point.
Thanks for sharing! My hubby would probably respond the same way. Although he might shake his head and laugh. But he's a woodworker by hobby and he loves getting other people's scraps 😁
Love those graduated spool blocks! Won't that be a lovely quilt? Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

I have had the privilege of being on one jury, and I would happily do it again in the future. I really love those gradient spool blocks!
Love that your husband joined you with the sorting. The spools look great. Have fun!

I got assigned to jury duty for the first time in December. I was bummed that, because of the holidays and my own vacation, I didn't get called for any trials.
Fun scraps. . .I have some of those same green scraps. . .maybe, I shouldn't admit that??? LOL I've been summoned often; but, have yet to serve on a trial. I too loved your response to the whiner!
Such fun with the new scraps! I do love the look of the new spool blocks-good job!
Mom just gave me a big bag of leftover strips too! I need to drag mine out when I get home and try to use them up … or at least some of them :)
It's always fun to play with something new. My scraps have been in a big bag for so long, I always feel like I have something new to play with, like oh I do have some of that left!
Yes, yes, having scraps from someone is always, ALWAYS, so amazing. Can't believe you got your husband to help! That's amazing too. Mine usually just sit there, sipping his Pepsi with eyes of disbelief, slowly shaking his head left and right, looking at the mess on the floor, while I'm in heaven. Haha. Enjoy every little bits! ;^)
Someone else's scraps are always fun, except for me, who is not a great scrap quilter. The spools are fabulous.
