Today is my day on the Awesome ORANGE YOU GLAD Bog hop!!
I saw this one and said "Self!! Go outside your color range and join in!" and then I got to planning... and looking at my fabric and I said "Self!! you sure have a lot of orange-ish fabric.... why haven't you dug in?"
So this !! totally got me going!!
Let's just jump in with the Final Product - and then, we will go to the Block Tutorial
Are you ready? Sure? Alright?
That's just a fun one right? I can see it in a lot of colors - and way more scrappy that this....
The block is 12 1/2 inches - so my 30 blocks made a 60 x 72 ish Size quilt.
Just so you know - when you open your colored pencil pack and you have the 72 pencil pack - you will be surprised at the lack of Shade Difference from the Oranges they have in there..... I think kindergarteners everywhere are going to be sad when they realize this... I had to have a piece of chocolate to stop my sadness!
Ta da!! Now you can make your Own Orange Block!!

Wow, this is great. I also love your quilting. Thanks for the block tutorial. I have to try this soon.
I so love your quilt for this hop. As bright and as beautiful as your blocks are it was your quilting that caught my eye, it's wonderful. Thanks for the block pattern. I have been looking at my scrap bag for this year and wondering what to do with it and I think this may be it. I'm so enjoying this start to my day.
What a pretty orange quilt! I like the fabric you used!
You sure did make some orange quilts. They all look great.
Beautiful quilt!
I love all your quilts! Something about orange just pops and makes everything happy. Thanks for sharing your block pattern too!
WOW! I love the orange and white together and I see in many of your quilts, you do too. Your quilting is amazing and the texture is truly over the top. What a fun and happy quilt. Thanks for the block tutorial and for hopping in the Orange You Glad Blog Hop!
Goodness, your 'orange' items are plentiful. Until I saw the close-up of the block, I didn't even notice that the fabrics were rather old. The quilt is gorgeous and I like the variation of color in it. Texture is lovely - excellent!
Your quilt is beautiful! I love that you used the doggie fabric for the back.
Love the bright orange and pink colors together! I need to step out of the box and use my orange fabrics! Yes chocolate makes everything better!
What a sweet quilt! I have lots of orange plus scraps, and I love it, but I have never made an orange quilt. Seeing yours makes me want to!
Orange is a color I seldom use myself. I'm glad you dug through your stash and found the perfect combination. Your block design and fabrics play so well together. The quilting is really fun looking! Love it!!!
Orange is not one of my favorites but you have made a beautiful quilt and I think it would be so pretty all scrappy as well :)
Fantastic orange quilts! Thanks for the tutorial on your main quilt--that's just how I work out my designs-on graph paper with colored pencils or crayons! The 2nd from last quilt really caught my eye!
your quilts are all lovely. thanks for sharing the pattern. this will be fun.
I am not a huge fan of orange - clothing is a no-go and home decor is only for autumn. But in the studio I have a surprising amount of orange, often mixed with pink as in your quilt. Good for you for stepping outside your usual/comfort range.
Oh yes indeed I 💕 it!! I need to pin this for a someday make 🥰
I also didn’t think I used orange much, and then when I started working on this hop all the different orange projects I’ve done seemed to surface
Like you I’d thought I didn’t do much in orange until I was working on my project and all the other oranges stared me down
Beautiful quilt, all your quilts are lovely. Thanks so much for sharing!
All great quilts. Thanks for the block tutorial.
It's been interesting to see how many people aren't really into orange, but have come up with some amazingly beautiful projects like yours. I love how you designed it and used those 12 year old fabrics!
What fun! Thank you for sharing your orange quilty projects.
Orange is my new "go to" color. Love your orange quilts. Thank you for a new bucket list block.
Your quilt is amazing! I always love seeing the quilts you make as well as your mystery quilts. The fabric is beautiful. I had that same daisy print too (a long time ago haha) Great finish! Thank you for sharing.
None of the boys are going to walk off with that quilt! and it is a really simple design for all that impact.
Interesting to see that not many people like orange. I'm one myself, but I did gain new respect for it when I did a project with orange -- for the exercise. And when I think about it, there's LOTS of orange in my latest project for Ricky's online class.
Good job.
That's a great quilt block. Orange you glad you made it? LOVE all the orange loveliness.
That fabric is gorgeous and so are all your other orange creations
Wonderful orange quilts! Thanks for sharing the new block.
Connie
Oh my goodness, I love your orange quilt, the tutorial and your other orange quilts! I agree about the colored pencil thing, too.
I love Orange! In all it's shades! Now I think I have to make one of your past tops, the Half Square Triangle one that explodes with orange!!
Wow! This is a little burst of sunshine! Love the bright oranges! Thanks for the block pattern!
Beautiful orange goodness on all your quilts! And thanks for sharing the dimensions of the block. I agree it will look good in all colors and scraps.
How pretty! And easy too - thanks for the tutorial
So much orange goodness. All of your quilts are beautiful.
Oh wow! I think I am actually starting to like orange, lol! Such pretty quilts and thanks for the tutorial! xx
Alycia, orange is outside my wheelhouse too! But it is growing on me! I really love the current quilt - and the others too!! Thanks so much for linking up with TGIFF today!
It's lovely, Alycia! I thought it was a 4-Patch so I am grateful for the free pattern. thanks and congrats on this darling of a quilt. ;^)
I’m late to the party but your orange quilts look terrific. Thanks for the block pattern. It looks like an easy scrap buster. Do I need to start another leader ended? Maybe, maybe not. But will I? Probably!
Beautiful orange quilts!
Love ORANGE and LOVE your orange quilts, Alycia!!!
This is a terrific block Alycia! Thanks for the tutorial and all the orange eye candy. I love orange with light turquoise, and have been feeling the urge to add a bit into my current orange and red quilt I've been working on this summer.
I'm a sucker for orange! And don't even get me started on the wonders of blue and orange together -- swoon! This finish is a beauty! : )
Nice orange quilts. I like orange.
