Scrappy Monday

Oh boy.... My "Just do It" started this weekend... I started on the top left cubby, and cleaned it out.... lots of extra papers that apparently I thought I needed... I did - they started our fire this morning lol/....

In that Blue Bucket (the second cubby) - labeled *stuff*  I found these:  and now I will hang my head in shame ( sort of cuz I am not really ashamed ...more like a dork!)

Remember way back in 2009 when Bonnie Hunter offered the Mystery called Carolina Christmas?  well - I finished it in 2011... and these ... these are the little cutoffs that were left over......

So  - I started ironing.... and playing on my design wall - and here is what I finished:

And sadly - or maybe I should be excited - there are more left.....

Oh - and there was also that Batting Tape - that you can iron on to scraps and make bigger battings... and a light. I wondered where that flash light had gone.... *sigh*

I guess I will work on this for a while, and see what I can come up with. I mean - its almost going to be a free quilt right????

Needles, Fabric, Chisels, and Wood…Life is GOOD! said...

I am so anxious to be done studying for a month so I can quilt and put in many hours in the wood shop. I also want to do some organizing and cleaning, and reading for fun, and Christmas decorating, and......and...and...

Thanks for letting me lurk on the side and see what I have been missing.

Sometimes it's best to take all of those extra blocks, triangle units, scraps of fabric and place in prepaid postal box and mail to winner of contest. You could call it the "Clean-out contest!" A side benefit would be that it would help keep the postal service afloat.

Those blocks are lovely! I love the black and white with the pinks. Very whimsical.
Thanks for sharing.

Organizing always feels so good when done! You had the icing on the cake when you found scraps that made up into a lovely block. I have my fair share of scraps too! I have them organized by color now. That was my big achievement. Wishing you the best while in the mode of straightening up.

Don't you just love free quilts?
I do have loose HST cut-offs flying around here as well - until I get my act together and sew them into a block. If you give me your final block size, I'll send you my HST block and soon you'll have a big quilt :-) Deal?

Love the "free" block. I have plans for some "just do it" projects over my Christmas vacation.
