Close Ups

A few of you asked to see some close up shots of my UFO finish - okay - I know - it was really one of you - but I gotta take the glory where I can get it right? (tee hee)

So my UFO # 9 is a Bonnie Hunter Mystery Pattern called Carolina Christmas. I don't know if it is still on her site or not - but here it is -

Because it is staying in my house I did some fun floofy quilting on it, although it is a really busy quilt. And most the times busy quilts don't call for real custom quilting - but again - it is mine, and I did the quilting - so I had fun!
Here is the whole quilt again. I wanted the green parts to poof out, so I feathers the inside of the star blocks, and quilted down the white part of the flying geese looking blocks.

Here is a close up of the feather block - it is sort of a squared wreath. And wouldn't you know - the one block I take a close up of has a mistake in it! How rude!!

This is the back of the feather square.

In the pink blocks I started in the center of the 4 and made feather.... question marks... and quilted feathers along the question mark.

Here is it on the back. And yes it is a busy back too. Remember I live in a household of boys.. even boy animals, except my sweet girl dog... so we have to use a lot of girl colors to hang on to something in this house!

Someone asked if I did a fancy border - and nope, I didn't... I just added a lot of texture to it and it fools you when you are looking at it.

I tried to get a side view so you could see the poofy's

The batting I used was Quilters Dream *Dream Puff* It is a very lightweight batting - but it does have a cool puff to it.

I am calling this my design wall today, because sadly enough - this is all that is there - except for the laundry I am supposed to fold.... but I am procrastinating!

To see other design walls go to:

Hope you enjoyed the close ups!

I LOVE the close up shots! I made each photo as large as they could be and enjoyed seeing what you made in each section. Love how the green stars pop up! And the circle feathers are so cool in the small stars. You are so clever!
I have never heard of that batting...I'll keep an eye open for it.
PS I also love that one block is "unique"!
Thanks for the details!
