Every Summer FirehouseQuilts.org has a quilt show and it is awesome!! It is one of their fundraisers that they do to keep making snuggle quilts for ambulances and fire trucks.
My dad is Fire Chief in the Livemore Fire District here in Northern Colorado. They have these little snuggle quilts stuffed in there ambulance, and they are so helpful. Many times there is an accident and there is not anything to keep a child warm during a snow storm, waiting for MediVac. And they are able to wrap a child in comfort. Not only does it keep them warm, it calms them down.
Back to the Quilt Show!! They are accepting entries for the show NOW!!! You can find out all about it Here
There are Great prizes, and lots of great vendors too!! So if you can, mark your calendars and go!! Here are some of the great quilts we saw last year......

Still Kicking
Wrangler Man dragged me kicking and screaming (okay coughing) to the Urgent Care on Tuesday. I really don't get sick, so I didn't think this was necessary... I mean I get the little colds and coughs - but not sick... EVER. Apparently this time I was wrong ... I have Pneumonia. And I don't like it.
For all of you who have ever been sick - I am sorry. I really Really am......
So there has been no sewing around here, no fabric acquisitions, no fun! - although today I do have the computer on.... hmmm.. I could do some damage!!!!
I am surprised at how things have come to a screeching halt, and I have had to say No... oh boy - I am so not good with that word!!!
Wrangler Man brought me home a great bunch of Quilting Books!! I guess he figures that if he can keep me down looking at quilting I won't be such a pain.... They are fun! I am getting great ideas......

And the Captain fell overboard
As with all families a tight ship must be run to keep everyone in the right place at the right time, and food on the table..... and the captain of our ship has fallen overboard....
Tuesday I was working away and I started to not feel good, so I told the boys I was going to go lay down on the couch for 20 minutes... next thing I know my oldest son is saying hey mom - thought you guys had horse judging tonite..... and then he looked at me and said - but you are NOT going, and he proceeded to make dinner for him and his brothers and they did the chores, and its 6 days later and.... I may make it.
There is light at the end of the tunnel - but missing a whole week kind of sucks.. and I am still honestly not 100% - maybe 15%. So if its quiet out here on the homefront please forgive me. I will catch up - I know I will, but if I don't I may toss the list and start over LOL
And if something creeps up on you like this - RUN!!!!

Rock Climbing
My littlest guy is now ... gulp... eleven.... so for his birthday we decided to go rock climbing!! It was awesome!! And... the best part - it wore EVERYONE out!!!
They have a rock climbing wall in Greeley, and they provided two instructors and it was awesome!! We had a great time
Even the big guy got in on the action - he was patiently waiting till all the boys got tired ( There were 4 other eleven year olds). It took awhile - but ... he waited them out!! And got to the top!
Have a great day!!

design wall Monday
What a difference a day makes... yesterday was 82 and sunny, and last night the big winds came in, and now its 40 and the temps are supposed to drop.... I don't mind that - I JUST WANT RAIN.... so do some rain dancing alright??
I played too much yesterday - got 4 horses ridden, and worn out, and got the others all cleaned off - which of course it why its getting cooler - kind of like washing your car - I tempted fate LOL!!
But my Friday Procrastination Project got another row sewn on and is on the design wall -
Its a strippy Quilt - I used the MaryQuilts pattern this time ; you can find it here
I was given a bag of fabrics and so... I thought I would sew up a sample and then make kits out of the rest of it. I think I can get about 5 more tops like this. They measure 41 x 56 when they are done.
I know that not QOV size - but we also have an Honor Flight that goes twice a year, and they give quilts out to the veterans, they are a little short for the next flight - so I thought maybe a few tops might help.
Plus - If I ever finish it.... I can figure out the measurements for borders and make them QOV size ( 55 x 65) .... I'm just so full of info aren't I? LOL

Inspirations
So... I had this great plan to finish a quilt top last night - so I would have something wonderful to show for Finished Friday - and since I procrastinate - I thought I could totally get it done, and then I didn't... and I ran out of bobbin, and my bobbin winder on my favorite machine doesn't work, and I would have to go downstairs to wind another bobbin..... and its dark down there at night - and Wrangler Man was in LA, and well... so ... I didn't get it finished.
I woke up this morning with Plan A - to finish it and post it before breakfast and then I wouldn't look like such a procrastinator, and I looked outside and saw free roaming animals - that were not supposed to be quite so free roaming... so off to Plan B - Chores first.
I got everything but 1 mare gathered, and went to get her and noticed that she looked a lot sick..., so now Plan C - ran to call the vet ( it can take them 45 minutes to get here - so I always err on the side of caution) And then I called my Horse Friend - who happened to be driving by - And bless his family's heart - they let him come help me... ( I OWE them big time)
He helped me get her up and walking, and we decided to keep the vet coming....
We worked on her all day - but apparently it wasn't to be, she is now in Heaven roping with Grandpa -I decided he must have needed a good mare ....and my quilt top is still sitting in the same place..... *sigh*
So I thought -after boring you with my oh poor me story - that a little more Quilty Inspiration might do us all some good.... at least it makes me happy ..
The last inspiration for today comes from Miracles , and was quilted by Karyn Furch in Colorado Springs CO
Thanks for reading all the way - hope you were inspired too - I love seeing the beautiful quilts - they make my heart happy.
