The color of the Month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge / Placemat Project is Yellow... so I dug thru the trusty ol' bin.... and took the top blocks that were on the yellow pile....
If you don't know - the boys pulled the bin of Block down for me in January - and it can not go back up... until it is lighter, or!! They grace my sewing area again.... I have a feeling it will just have to get lighter, I think I scared them away from the sewing room.
Now - another thing-- I will have to remember to say this again in my final recap... I did not make these blocks. I awarded a Quilt of Valor to a WWII Veteran and his wife said - I have made all these blocks... let me give them to you... and give she did... and they are all different sizes, and all different fabrics, ( sometimes not even cotton) and they just needed a project to be a part of..... so! Here they are!

that is nice to incorporate blocks that another made.
I love the color/word butterscotch and plan to make a quilt "someday" just to call it Butterscotch. It's yellow enough, and that is a pretty group of blocks!
very sweet of you to accept someone else's orphans and turn them into beautiful placemats that you will donate!!
Wow! That’s a great way to approach those blocks you were given and the end result looks wonderful! I pulled out my yellow scraps and hardly have any at all. I might have to combine them with another (overflowing) color this month. Happy stitching!!!
Butterscotch. That sounds yummy! It always feels good to put all those oddballs to such good use.
As soon as I saw those donated blocks I knew you were going to make placemats for a great cause!!!
Bravo!!! What a great array of yellows!
Place mats are a terrific use of those blocks! And butterscotch is such a perfect color name.
Placemats! I love these, I adore your use for them and you're to be commended on your absolutely stellar quilting~ great post today! Hugs~
great idea for orphans
I bet that gal would love knowing what you're doing with her little blocks! Butterscotch is the perfect name for that not-quite-yellow color!
And they are all so pretty in those placemats!

When you started your post today, I thought "pineapple and lemon". It seems those are what I crave this time of year. But, Butterscotch is good too! (Now that we have the chocolate issue covered.) Now my mouth is watering....
Wait, our February is gray here, I want yellow!!! But really, today is a sunny day so I will go soak it up in the 4° weather. NOT As always, adorable placemats!
These are lovely, Alycia! It makes me happy that you've turned someone else's UFO into a beautiful and useful finish. I especially love your feather quilting!
Wow! I do not understand why I am still amazed at the beautiful things that can be made from scraps even when they are gifted to you.
You are doing a great work with those blocks, and for a good cause. Congrats!!
Great way to use up these blocks to spread the love around!
Awesome, Alycia! You are already ready for the February TABLE SCRAPS Challenge. I just LOVE the quilting on that last one!!
