January was the Month of Pink -
And! I got 10 Placemats done - 5 are bound, the other five will get there.
I laid them out all pretty like - so we could see the variety
and the Hubs decided it was time to start feeding!!

I had to tell him I was just Soooooo busy taking photos -
he should start feeding without me!
He bought it!!
A couple of you asked what I meant by stitching them at the end of a quilt
this:
I make sure the backings are about 20 inches longer than what I need - and then I can quilt the placemats while the backing is still on the frame.
This is what it looked like when I cut them off

I also get to use scraps of batting
This will be the end of the Pinks!

Such a productive month! Hope that you are able to finish some yellow placemats next month.
Bind while you watch a couple of movies with the guys. That takes the chore out of binding. Nice placemats.

It's YELLOW! Your way of quilting the placemats is excellent - Chris used to do that same kind of thing to use up the extra batting instead of having it pile up in the corner of her studio. Such great placemats!
Very pretty in pink. Do you get to keep the placemats or do they have a new home? Very smart to have them tag along with the bigger quilt. Congrats on all the finishes this week.

What a great finish! I was thinking it would be a good project for me to take on to give to our local Meals on Wheels program. Wouldn't it give someone a great perk to get one with their meal every once in a while?!
What a productive month! I'm taking your great idea to add extra backing to the next quilt I quilt. That way I can easily make some samples of the different quilt patterns I do on the longarm. Thanks for the inspiration!

Those are the cutest Alycia! If I had a long arm!id try to make use of the extra batting too! If I remember correctly, at least some of your placemats are destined for Meals on Wheels. Is that right?
