Design Wall Monday

I actually have something today!! We had a Quilt of Valor Sew day on Sunday and our group made a bunch of blocks!!! So I started putting some of them up on my design wall last night!!!

Aren't they cool - 3 strips of 2 1/2 x 44 makes three blocks!!! 25 Blocks makes a quilt. ( they finish at 10.5 x 12 inches!!!

And we made 2 sets!!!  so a total of 50 blocks!!  They will need a 5 inch border - but that is easy peasy!!

The smoke makes the most interesting sunsets. It gives the clouds eerie feelings..

Those pretty blocks will make great quilts and what a great way to use those strips! That fire doesn't sound like it's going to be whipped into submission anytime soon. Hope all of your family stays safe. Hubby's aunt and uncle lost the 7 cords of wood they has stacked by the house, but they still have the house. That's just too close for comfort.

Right now our sky is a little smoky from them burning the field across the highway. I do not like this time of year! Too much smoke.

The blocks are very nice and so glad to hear you had a good time!

Great blocks, someone is going to be very happy wrapped up in a quilt made with those blocks.

Great blocks Alycia! If you wouldn't mind, could you share some measurements? It's always nice to use up some 2.5" strips!!! :)

I agree with Amy. Are the directions available somewhere? I need to find some fast easy quilt patterns. Although I've got 3 quilts backed up waiting for me to quilt them just haven't had time. Too much traveling recently. As interesting as the sunrise/sunsets are I don't like fires near me... yuck. Not had any since living in So Cal years ago. Stay safe.
