Quilts of Valor 2015

Happy Wednesday Morning!!!

I hope you all enjoyed last weeks photo album - there were over 400 pictures - so maybe that was too much, but I was amazed!!!

Ready for the Quilty Inspiration this week??  Here we go!

This first quilt comes from Lynn W down in Alamosa!
I Love this! I think it is a free pattern at Fat Quarter Shop?

The one below was made by Pam N in Greeley
It was quilted by Kathy and Sue

This one is from the block drive and was pieced b Rubydell
It was also quilted by Kathy and Sue ( aka the dynamic duo!)

Another Block Drive one
Quilted again by Kathy and Sue

A block Drive one

I quilted this one -
It was pieced by Mary

This Strippy quilt is Sharon's FIRST Quilt of Valor

( okay persistently inviting her, until she was sick of me)

I quilted it too ;-)

This one was pieced by Donna L
and Quilted by Mindy M in Co Spgs

And the lst one for today -

A little more hiking

So... the outdoors is really calling ....

That's oneof mine - he thought if he hid I wouldn't take his photo
he was wrong....
sort of like he was wrong that I wouldn't care if he didn't do his dishes....

So this next one.... we hiked to there!
From where I was standing.

I got Ice Cream for that one!

But I also got a little sidetracked -
Leaves

Water

Clouds
They are the best - these were saying
Chocolate.... Chocolate.... and maybe wine...

This was our view from the top

And no - I did not take only 6 photos...
More like 6000

Not my Design wall

But Samantha's!!!

I have to tell you - I was to tickled to get this email - it truly MADE my day!!!

"Thank you so much for writing such a clear, detailed beautiful pattern for the Super Cool Awesome QOV. It was my first quilt top ever. I have been wanting to do it for a while, but it seemed so difficult. My top has been donated to a local group..... Thanks for giving my the courage to try my hand at making a quilt. It went so smoothly that I have actually completed my second top as well.

Samantha"

Just kind makes my little heart go pitter patter!!!

And here is her Quilt:

Samantha is a former service member - and married to an Active Duty Service Member!!!

Thank you SO much Samantha for sharing with me - you'll never know how much I happy danced!!!

For the rest of you - here is the link to the pattern:

Quilts of Valor 2015

Writing this post has been a struggle!! I wanted to share with you our Presentation in Greeley - I shared that photo of all the vets sitting up front...

Okay - I will share it again:
And it was awesome.... and then my fabulous picture takers let me download and emailed me  - and then Igot overwhelmed!! I want to share them all with you - but there was 400 or so photos.... and then I wanted to share the best ones.. but there are 400 of them - and .... I couldn't choose.

So I ate a piece of chocolate, and I took the dogs for a walk - AND!! I still couldn't choose....

We had 27 Veterans at our presentation.
Too many to choose from!!

And see all the people that came?
I forgot to open my eyes while I was talking.
Turns out that was a good thing - who knows how badly I might have shook!!

This Veteran... he was a Marine
And his quilt
Made by two Marine Moms
With lots of Marine *stuff* in it

Loved the Thumbs up!!

This is my buddy...

Little Bit and I Picked out a quilt for him - it is the MQX blocks
Put together by the UNC Softball team
and we decided to quilt Motorcycle in it...
This Veteran is a Motorcycle man... we were proud of ourselves!

This is my other buddy -
We surprised him! Yep - he had No Clue ;-)

His quilt was made by the National Honor Society peeps at Platte valley
My Middle son coordinated it

It was cool - he was speechless !!  Well for a minute - and then he was just so surprised - LOVE it!!

SO..... because I can't share them all in one blog post - I made an album and I posted it on my photography site. Because I did not take the pictures - Thea and Lynn and Kelly did - It is a private album ( my site is a business site)   so - you have to have the link to get to it - here it is:

Quilts of Valor Colorado    Let me know if that doesn't work - cuz it worked for me..... but! its my album

I'll be back next week to show Quilty Photos - but I hope you liked today

Animals

This is Babysitter Cow
all the other Mama's are out eating and drinking and having a good time -
and she is watching the babies ( there's 4 - look real close at the white baby)

I needed a Babysitter Cow when my babies were little -
now I need the Cook Cow, the Laundry Cow, the Milk Cow ( get it?? )

My babies are too big and they eat everything in sight!
Maybe I even need a grocery shopper cow!

This rooster was flirting with me!!
Yep - He must have thought I had corn

But I didn't

So he ran off'd with another

and left me in the dust .... sort of like these tall boys

and because all my worker cows have abandoned me....
My fabric is lonely.... *sigh*

Do you feel sad for me yet? ( tee hee hee)

Goin' Fishin'

Some days you just need to get away and go Fishin' .....

So while they fished I checked the sky for clouds....

Then Little Bit caught a fish....

While they were fishing I scouted the area a bit, and went to get them.
They immediately passed me up.... and took off with out me

( I had the keys - it was all good!)

The river

The big Guy
The Middle Son

It was so nice to head home and cook fresh fish!!
They are so yummy that way.
Plus- they don't "let me" cook the fish - it's Mans Work!!
Yep!! I am all for that!

Quilts of Valor 2015

This last weekend was CRAZY!!!  BUT!!! I don't have all the photos yet, so I am waiting for those to come and then I will totally share - but the Semi Truck - was WAYYYYY cool!!

In the meantime - I hope you enjoy these Quilts of Valor!!

The first 6 Quilts are all from Meredith in AZ - and they are Quilted by Ron in NM

The cool thing about these quilts is Ron always quilts an American Symbol in the quilt.

When our soldiers pick the quilts up, I always try to point out the symbol
( I think I have more fun with that!!)

The Next three quilts come from the Wabi-Sabi Quilters

This first one was pieced by Mary and quilted by Pamela

This one was pieced by the group and quilted bu Sue and Kathy

This is a close up of the Eagle Block

Another one pieced by Wabi Sabi and quilted by Sue and Kathy

I think I told you we are covering a Women Veterans Event
so this is a top that I found on Ebay a while ago, and
decided it should be quilted for this evert

Don't you just love how Quilts make you gather all around... and smile?

Enjoy your day!!!
Go Forth an Quilt!!!
