One Monthly Goal for July and.... catchup!!!

My July One Monthly Goal was my Inspired by Cynthia    and guess what???

I did it!!
Yep - I am bragging... I actually did a whole OMG in the SAME month!!

Ta da!!
It is done and quilted
And because it will be a Quilt of Valor
I am sending it to our Sew day to get bound!! Whoot Whoote

A close up of the quilting
and the back

AND THEN!!
My May One Monthly goal was to bind this big ol stack of quilts
I got all of them done except this one
( it was half bound)
so now!!
It's done!

I think that makes one Halloween quilt per kid - but I may have to recount

AND THEN
My One Monthly Goal for June - was only an OM - and now it has it's G

So there you go!!
I am all caught up on my OMG's and ready for August... ok - not really - but I should be!

Inspired by Cynthia

Cynthia - Who blogs over at http://quiltingismorefunthanhousework.blogspot.com/  made a way cool Patriotic String quilt last summer - and I fell in love and started scheming.

I asked her if I could copy it, then realized.... I am not as good at math as she is - so I used her photo and started my own.

I can't seem to find the original post on the blog - but she has the quilt for sale in her Etsy Shop if you want to check her version out - because it is WAY cool!

( Edit - Cynthia sent us the direct link!!!  Here it is  http://quiltingismorefunthanhousework.blogspot.com/2017/07/festive-picnic-finish.html  )

anyways... here is where I am with it today!!

I think I need a bigger design wall.... you think my husband would let me take over more of our house? I mean - it's not like he's in it all the time ;-)

As you can see there are still quite a few blocks to be made.... again - remember that Math thing? well not really - I just sorta gathered all my scraps - I cut them into 10 inch lengths ( or there about)

and started sewing.  It seems like I have been working on them for a long time - so therefore - I should have enough blocks.....  logical right?

So as of today - to finish the blocks and top it becomes my July One Monthly Goal!!  Whoot Whoot

June ( ackkk) : One Monthly Goal

I was thinking in my head last week, that I really needed to sit down and decide my June One Monthly Goal - and then Bam! June was here - and I hadn't decided.  The indecision - oh my!!

I ( unlike any other quilter ha ha!)  want to do it all, and finish it all in a day - and look amazing while doing it.... but alas - I have narrowed my goal.....

I toughened up - I made a decision - and NO! I was not influenced by the fact that this project is actually on my design wall - so it would be ludicrous to remove it ( right???)

here it is:

This!  I have enough blocks for another quilt too - so since I didn't make the blocks - I am expanding my goals - Piece this top , add borders, piece the other, add borders.... MAKE A BACKING - and..... If I really want a reward - Quilt them..... I am going for it folks - keep your fingers crossed, and send me well wishes.

Did I tell you that June is one of *the* craziest months for us this year??  Seriously - I am missing those days when the kids were younger and our big goal for the day was to get chores done and play in the pool....

ah well - It;s all good....

May's One Monthly Goal

my May's One Monthly goal was to bind this pile of quilts:

And Bind I did!!
This one

and this one
( PS It says Wham Bam Thwap in the quilting -on it - I love it)

and this one

and this one
It's story is here:

and this one

and this one
- I sorta forgot I stuck it in the pile
I have made others and they got bound and awarded as Quilts of Valor
Poor baby

and this one
Its on my kids bed
We are ready for the 4th of July now!

and there should be one more
It should look like a halloween quilt
but it had a moment - and it had to take a break because
LOOK

They are ALL home... Whoot Whoot

So now my pile looks like this
and I hope to add the Halloween soon
and then I can get back to making another pile....

The end

More Bindings from the Pile

I have a few more done on my May's One Monthly Goal Pile.... but I have to tell you..... my ambition is waning ....

But I will keep on until the 31st of May... right?  I may need to plan a reward to keep me going....

This is called Big Star Country - it is Mystery A6 in my Craftsy Store - and we had fun with it. I made two - and got the first one bound and even awarded, and this poor baby got stuck in the pile! I am not sure how... but there it was!
And this is the back!  I love how this panel just shines here!

Then my Scrappy Hearts Quilt - it was kinda sorta my leader ender project in 2017 - and then at a quilt retreat I buckled down and sewed till I was out of strips - and then I quilted it - and bam - it wandered into that pile.... sigh.... but now it is done, and it will be on my son's bed when he comes home! Yay - I think everyone now has a Patriotic Quilt in our family ;-)

So that is my Pile Progress for this week - and.... there are still some left in that pile!! and the countdown is on!!

May's Pile Progress

You know your brain is a little tired when you can't even think of a cool blog title.....

I have made more progress on my Binding Pile - and YAY!!!

Are you ready??

Bound Quilt Number 3

I truly to not remember when I made this one - but I sure like it!

Bound Quilt Number 4

This one - I remember -
I worked the hospitality part of Quilt Affair - our State Quilt Guilds huge Quilt show/Sale and I found this fabric and loved it - and then I left without it

My Dear Ethel got a FQ bundle and gave it to me for my Birthday - I was So Suprised.

I made the Top Immediately ( its called SnapShots from Atkinson Designs) and I used the top for a while, then I quilted it and used it un bound - and Now!! It is finally bound - AND on the couch!!

 And Binding Number 5
Just to prove I did it  ( and didn;t beg someone else)
here is the Full Quilt
This is my pattern, and one that is so easy and fun! Gives a bold look!

So Number 3 and Number 5 will make there way to my Etsy Store - So if you know someone interested in a finished quilt - send them that way....  ( remember... two kids in college UGH)  ha ha!!

Alycia's Quiltygirl Etsy Store

Enjoy your day!!
