A finish for my Family -and!! Finished ( or not) Friday

I think they refer to this as the Cobblers Syndrome - when you are always making things for others, and forgetting your own kids?

But in my defense, my kids had WAY too many t shirts!

Last year I made them sort thru them all and make a pile of what they would like in a T shirt quilt - and my  husband decided to get in on it too...

Announcing the FIRST of the Family T Shirt Quilts!

Usually when I make Quilts I start with the oldest child ( adult now!) First - but this time I decided... to start with the youngest - so Here is Little Bits two sided T shirt Quilt.

I not only included his T shirts - but also pieces of Shirts that I had made for him. of course, the other two kids have matching shirts - so you will see some of these fabrics again - hopefully before the end of the year!

It kind of worked out that I finished this quilt just in time for his Birthday!!  So we headed to PF Changs - and managed to make the waitstaff and manager laugh at how much food we ordered. but!! we still had room for dessert!!!

And I was glad I had that done, as I became aware that it was that time of year again, and I got swamped with TShirt Quilts for high scholl grads - LOVE it - but how did time sneak up so fast???

Alright!!! What is happening with you????

Awww you made the youngest one's first - that is so sweet. It looks so neat!
I love the idea of a reversible T-shirt quilt. My daughter gave me dozens of her new hubby's t-shirts for a quilt, so that is going to be my solution to use as many as I can.
You look too young to have those big strapping sons!

Well done! Double-sided - that must be super heavy! Good for your winters.

That's a lot of T-shirts, but it's really fun. Is it really heavy since it has t-shirts on both sides?

Happy Birthday to your son, looks like a fun celebration! Love the T shirt quilt, it will bring back memories for all of you.

Fabulous 2 sided t-shirt quilt. Is it extra heavy? That might be good if he likes a weighted quilt with the bonus of all those t-shirts full of memories.

The T-shirt quilts are NOT fun to make but they mean the world to the recipients. You make such a pretty picture and chocolate to top it all!!! A perfect celebration, indeed!

I think you know I am biased, but t-shirt quilts are the BEST! So many memories in one piece and made with love. How can you do wrong??? Thanks for the chance to party with you. Blessings, M

How erfect to have that great quilt finished for the Birthday. It's a wonderful idea -- Nobody ever wants to throw T-Shirts because of the memories associated with them . Repurposing them in this beautiful way makes so much sense and the recipients get to keep the memories forever!
