Granny Square Quilt and!! Finished ( or Not) Friday!!!!

First a quick apology on the time thing last week - apparently AM and PM aren't the same thing haha!

So !! Welcome to Finished ( or not) Friday!!!  Hope you had a fun and productive week!!!

Here is my ( new to me) NOT FINISHED!!!

Isn't it lovely!!! It was made in the 30's and tucked in a trunk. I think it is just about perfect - and all it needs is Quilting...

So! I think it is a Granny Square quilt - but I could be wrong.... do you know what it is?

and I need to think of a way to quilt it.  I may do an all over since it is pretty busy and the fabrics are old.

That is my brag for the week - what have you got going on? Let's see it!!

Link up a direct post and link back to this one so we can grow the Link up ;-)

The old quilt is beautiful! I suggest using a Baptist fan design with the curves no more than 3/4" apart, perhaps even closer. Baptist fan is always a good choice with so many seams. Happy quilting!

Nice antique quilt. Would you be willing to quilt someone else's antique quilt tops? I have some from my sister-in-law that need quilting (old family quilts).

Yes, I'd call it a Granny Square. I've made one but it's not as gorgeous as your antique. Isn't it fun to look at all the old fabrics?

It will be fun to see how you quilt it. It definitely has a granny square look but didn't find it in EQ or Block Base with that name.

Yes, Granny Square, and oh, is it lovely! It will be fun to see how you quilt it. And edge it... are you going to keep the triangle edges??? That would be a challenge to bind, but would really make it stand out!

Wow, what a great quilt. Up close it's so busy--so many fabrics, so many patterns and stripes--but from a distance it is defined by the pink squares around each block. Congrats on the find!

Granny square is a new name for an old design. Back in the day they could have called it Chimney Sweep, Album, Washington Sidewalk, etc., there are lots of names and variations. It's a wonderful quilt, and will be even better after your awesome quilting.

Yes it is a Granny Square, love this pattern. Here's how I quilted one I made https://ibb.co/album/v3Gw8W I used ruler work on it. You could do Orange Peels from corner to corner on the patches. It's just lovely.
