May Color Challenge

Well.... it is not 100% finished... I don't think - but this is what I have come up with so far for the May Color Challenge....

Here is the Palette...... It makes me hungry......

And here is my top ( okay its just the blocks) up on the design wall.... I think it needs a little more so will work on it... hopefully today... although there are a lot of Ranch Chores beckoning.... Sigh...

A close up - I love the Butterflies.....and the paisleys

And the plaid like oranges!

Oh!! And for those of you who asked - this is my new camera. It is a Nikon D5100 and it is shown here with its telephoto lens. The running joke in our house is that * it is all about me*

So....My oldest son qualified to go to the State Swim Competition, the venue was a big pool in Denver, where the pool is on the ground ( duh) but the seating is way up high. My little Canon Power Shot Camera, which I love and adore, does not take great far away pictures.....

I decided that I needed a better camera - actually have been thinking on it for a few years - and so decided the time was right....

Although my Son made it to state - it was all about me! I needed a new camera to get pictures that I wanted....  aren't I good LOL
I will be linking up with Judy at Patchworktimes.com for the color challenge...... enjoy!!

What a happy top! So, how do you like the new camera? I got it's big brother D7000 last summer. I'm still learning all the ins and outs. This book is also helping a LOT: http://www.amazon.com/David-Buschs-Nikon-Digital-Photography/dp/1435460855/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1338479241&sr=8-2

My problem now is memory retention....I was trying to use the camera everyday to help things sinkin but, we'll, you know how that goes.....

Well it IS all about you...taking care of everyone else! :) You got a great camera to capture the memories and they will all appreciate it greatly when they sit around and flip through the photo albums saying, "Remember when...and remember that...". You're a historian and every historian needs a good camera. Enjoy!

Beautiful interpretation of the color palette. Love all the brights you used, very fun.

A couple of years ago My Guy told me he wanted a lens that he could take pictures of Drama Teen and actually get her and not half the soccer field too. So I gave him a 300 to 500 telephoto for Father's Day. She quit playing soccer that spring and started swimming in the fall. It works really well shooting from those sky high stands.

Congrats on the new camera. Though My Guy has found that close ups of the swimmers doesn't always show their best side, especially when the stroke is the fly.
