More Cool Quilts

I love looking at quilts!!
Here are some great Quilts of Valor that we have finished!!

Think I might have moved on this one - but it is a lovely quilt made from the Take 5 pattern. Harriet made it, and quilted it. Her eagles were wonderful!!

This quilt was pieced by Sue S from her friend Mary Jane's Fabrics and quilted by Sue.... I LOVE it!!

This next one was pieced by Sue from Mary Jane;s Block. MaryJane passed away and had a lot of fabric and blocks in her sewing room. Her husband gave a lot of them to Sue to finish. and WOW - has Sue worked a LOT!!  Sue also quilted this one.

This color theory one was made and quilted by Rosalie. I remember seeing it hanging at the County fair - I believe it had a ribbon on it - isn't it cool?

This last Quilt of Valor was pieced and quilted by Ethel - Its pretty cool!!! Kind of a basket weave look to it!!

Hope you enjoyed this little bit of Eye Candy!! These Quilts of Valor are amazing things.. I had a lady come to me and ask how people can make such beautiful works of art and then part with them. When I explained that these people were true Patriots, and really wanted to support our service members - she cried..... Isn't that cool ( well not the crying part - but the emotion that went with it!)

CVCU

Today is not a design wall for me, Somehow the weekend got away with out any piecing. I did work on a customer quilt - and can't wait to show you that when I am finished!!

My kiddos all wanted to go see the Lorax movie - so Friday night we ventured into town... holy cow - LOTS of people go out on Friday Nights... I must have been hiding out here!

We saw the Lorax in 3D - Middle bit didn't want his picture taken... but I found other volunteers

Aren't they cool!!!   I loved the 3D glasses look - priceless!

Sunday I spent the day at Combat Veterans Cowboy Up!! Go check out their website - I'll wait - http://combatveteranscowboyup.org   .I have been there before, but I so love it each time I go. They have 2 new colts on the ground and a LOT of work to be done...

John ( the owner) was talking about how a bit ago they were out of hay and all of a sudden these $5 donations came in, and there was enough to buy hay to get thru a week - which was a GodSend for them....  Do you all remember that - that was US!!! Many of us gave up our McD or starbucks run and donated it to him!!! How awesome are we!!

I think I am going to do that again. I think that I will pack the boys dinner and donated that McD money to him for more hay or whatever he needs. We have dog training tonite and usually do the drive thru ahead of time.... not tonight!!

Hope you all have a great day - and for cool design walls head over to http://www.patchworktimes.com   I'll have something sewn for next week ( maybe) LOL

Sunday Quilt Show

Since I don't have any changes in my stash report.... I thought I would do better and show off some great Quilts of Valor!! It always gives me inspiration to see them, and to see the love sewn into them. Today is a day I need some love......

Ready for some beauties?

These batik yummies come from California from Meredith. Meredith sends her quilts to Ron in New Mexico to quilt them - and that man must never sleep .....

Ron always puts something * Americana* in the quilt - and it is quite fun to search for them and find them. I got to present one of these quilts to a vet, and I kept searching on the quilt for the symbol... the soldier finally said - do I get the quilt?  Everyone laughed and then I explained what I was looking for.... I shared it, then everyone wanted to see, at it took him a minute to recieve the quilt....

You will have to turn your computer monitor over for this one - sorry - I blame blogger - it was right side up!!

This string quilt came from CA too - from Alma!! Thanks Alma for joining in!!

Her quilt got an eagle!!

This string quilt above, and the two rail fences below were made as a group - at the sew days that Rubydell and I host in Greeley - our groups put these together. We sent the to Loretta W to quilt them - and she did a beautiful job!!!

This pattern Can be found Here

Hope you enjoyed these quilts.... today I am off to Combat Veterans Cowboy Up... I have a little clue of what i will be doing, but Not a big clue - so wish me luck - you can check them out if you want at http://www.combatveteranscowboyup.org   then you might have a little clue of what I will be doing too....

A Flannel Finish

My dear Janet brought me this yummy flannel quilt to quilt up. She made one very similar earlier in the year, and one of her Granddaughters claimed it!! So she needed another one - and I LOVED quilting it for her.

It is a drunkards path pattern....

Hopefully she will get to keep this one....
