Another Memory Quilt and!! Finished ( or not) Friday!

My original goal of using FONF to help move along my projects has taken a bit of a stall due to customer Quilts. 

At the beginning of this year I had a HEAP of Start to Finish quilts commissioned, and now... I think I have finished the last one!  ( okay I know - and I don't think I will be taking any more start to finish ones this year... just Machine Quilting for clients!) 

Here is the Memory Quilt - Finished!!

it was a fun one - she wanted a lot of pieces put in it, and wanted it more mosaic like than planned - so some of the shirts take up two rows, and some are smaller. Glad I was able to do the math to make it the way she wanted.

And then!! I have the sweetest client - she is in a mode to use up a lot of her fabrics - so she keeps making the most adorable charm quilts... I get to quilt them - LOVE it!!

She brings me 6 or so at a time - I love that she is that prolific!! 

My foot is getting better - the swelling is going down, and I get to take the cast thing off as long as I am icing it... I have help tho!!

Can you see how * helpful* they are haha!

How was your week?  Did you get things moved along?  I feel like it is time to make a list of what I want to move forward now that the *STF* Client Quilts are done, Do you feel the need to *organize* after big projects?

A T shirt Quilt and!! Finished ( or not) Friday!!

Happy Friday!

We finally got some snow - not a lot - not even an inch, but!! Wednesday we had such high fire danger, and then there were fires, not just here but in Texas and wow - Its very damaging. So when I woke up to some snow Thursday morning, I was pretty tickled! 

I have been working on Memory Quilts and T-shirt quilts for some clients - this one was so fun!

Her family has a history of making HONEY!! So cute!

We found Fleece that had Honey Bees on it!! it was a perfect compliment. I got to take it back to her, and! Of course - you have to love the smiles.

We had some fog this week too - can you see the Rainbow?  Fog and sun is a cool combination!

I am pretty happy to be ticking things off my To-Do list, but I have to stop adding things to the bottom haha!!

Memory Quilts are DONE!! and!! Finished ( or not) friday

 I have finished all the Memory quilts for my friend!! She has them back, and!! at is planning on gifting them to her family soon. I am quite happy with myself - I got 8 quilts done... DONE!! in a month!

Go me!!

I also made a little count of the 1st Leader/Ender Blocks... 

  I use these, and my Chunkies as L/e while I made those quilts.. Not too shabby!!

Reba!!! He was NOT happy with me. It was cold, and we got that below freezing weather that everyone had, and I was LATE with his grain... Oh my!

The days are getting longer.... yay.. just a pretty sunset!

Memory Quilts

 A friend of mine asked if I could make some memory quilts for her from her fathers clothing. How can you say No? Her father was the best!! 

So !! I have been cutting, and cutting, and piecing a little....

The cool thing is - he wore a specific color palette - so everything seems to be blending well. He was also a strong Christian man and had several favorite bible versus. We picked the Three he loved the most, and my Friend Deb did the embroidery for me. 

I now have all the embroidered blocks done and am starting on the others - I need to make 72 total blocks  for all the quilts. ( I feel like the little engine that could - I can do it! I can do it!) 

It's actually quite fun... ha!

also - Saturday I had another competition. I have to preface this with - I am not the best. I am a low person on the *greatness* totem pole. BUT!! I AM HAVING SO MUCH FUN!

My horse and I have been practicing, and each time I get more comfortable with fast... this last weekend ALL my runs were sub 20 seconds! ( I usually go about 30-40 so WHOA!!)

this is a screen shot from the video - I loved seeing the sparks, and we were SO intent.... this is a fun sport!

Just a pretty - the cows looked so pretty against the mountains and the cold Crisp air.

Memory Quilts and!!!! Finished ( or not) Friday!!!

I have a big project that FINALLY got Finished!!! and I am so Happy!!

I had a client who's husband passed away. He was a Dairy Man and she saved a bunch of his work shirts for just simple quilts for his kids.... He had 4! 

So I dug into the shirts and started cutting squares. Surprisingly - that took a LONG time!!! but I got the tops together and since he was a pilot, I quilted planes on each quilt. and then... the binding....

but now!! they are all done, and ready for her to have them!!!!

Here they are!! I used pockets and some button cuffs and I think they are really fun quilt.

And the Airplanes. Aren't those fun?

Now that I have that cleaned up and off the table....And My Mystery Quilt is ready to quilt  - I know you are only on Clue 2 - but!! You will love it!!!   I am ready to get back to my Pile Project!!!!

 Welcome to this weeks edition of Finished ( or not) Friday... where we find ourselves with!!!

A Finish!!! 

Alright - a Little Bragging here.... TWO finishes!! Oh ya!!

I was so excited to finish these and get them back to their owner - and! I think she liked them!!

I put all the darker and more Winter type shirts in this one - with one in the center from the place he spent a lot of time!

Here I tried the Quilt swirl...

Yep -I suck at it!!

and then I took all the light Spring type ones for the second quilt - with one Denim section with his most favorite shirt 

Didn't even attempt the Quilt Swirl with this one... Just gave up gracefully! and draped it over the rocking chair!

These were really really fun to do, and of course - they hold such great memories for this family. The lady I made them for, her dad is an icon in the Horse Business around here, so I hope they bring a lot of good memories for her and her kids!

Memory Quilts ..... and Finished ( or Not) Friday

 This week went by very fast for me!! each evening I said - oh I am going to get *this* done, and then it would be bedtime.... and whatever * this * was.... wasn't done.... Oh well!  Tomorrow is another day right?

I am working on Memory Quilts! - The first one is pieced, and the backing chosen, and now this one is really pieced - I promise! but it started raining ( YAY - bring more!) when I wanted to take the photo of the top....

This one is all the light colored shirts - where the first one was the Darker Colored Quilts.  I didn't choose a One Monthly Goal this month - but really these two quilts are my OMG - as in Quilt and BIND!!! Oh that binding - that's a big one!  So!! I am declaring it now - THIS IS MY ONE MONTHLY GOAL... haha!! Think I can do it??
