Block Robin Blocks

This year in my guild ( Pieceable Friends)  I hosted a Block Robin - Sort of a Round robin, but you chose a block you wanted Quilters to make, and we sent the boxes around. At the end - you have a box of Blocks.

I chose Scrappy ones - because I am on a mission to use Them All!!!!

Our Original boxes came back to us last Tuesday - and here is what was in my box!! * Squeeee***'

The ones in the bottom right --- have HORSE SHOES in them!!!

Aren't they just a gorgeous mix of color!!!
I then added all the scrappies I had made:

I need a bigger design wall... and a way to hide the mud room from my photos --- oops haha!!

I then started playing with layouts - this was the first one -

I tried to do them in diagonal rows - but I couldn't use them all so .. back to the wall:

I sort of added them randomly to the bottom - sort of trying to match colors... and then I stared at it for a bt - I really wasn't a fan - it was too -.... Jumbly.....

Back to the wall!!!
I started color grouping and this is what I came up with!!

It uses 90 of the 93 blocks and I have  starter seeds for the next scrappy one!! - K walked in and said - Oh I LOVE that - so in my world... its a go!!!

Now I just need to row it, and make sure the doggies don't wag their tails to close to blow a block off the wall!!!

Wow that is a LOT of blocks! LOL on the doggies wagging their tails too close - I get it! And my cats love to put their paws on the design wall and stretch and pull down blocks.

K has great taste. I love it too. Fabulous layout for all those colors.

Don't hide the mud room, it gives a slice of reality to complement the beautiful quilt!

I love it! What a fun quilt! My guild is doing the same thing but it is called a "Pizza box swap" because they were originally going to be in pizza boxes. we ended up using plastic containers. We will be done in December I believe.

Great blocks! I like to arrange rainbows diagonally too. Your diagonally cluster of colors is cool... :)

I think even with a design wall, it would take me forever to come up with that layout. I can't think of a better way to lay out those blocks. Thanks for sharing.
