Buckeyes with a Twist finish and!!! Finished!! ( or not) Friday

Oh My gosh!! IT IS FRIDAY - where did Tuesday -Thursday go? we have had a lot of wind - not like those who had tornados - but do you think it blew those days away??

I did get a finish in!!

I got to my February Rainbow  Scrap Challenge - Buckeyes with a Twist!!

We had had Pat Speth come ( via zoom) and do a guild presentation. She had talked about turning blocks different ways for different looks, so of course! when February RSC started I had to try it - so I rearranged the Blue Buckeye components and Bam!! made something else....

Then!!! I started playing with the border, and I wanted to figure out a way to continue the circle like part of the  block... so this is what I came up with ;-)

I quilted it with some windy swirly swirls - just because I think the wind has been blowing here for 17 batrillion hours, so it must have weaseled its way into my brain!

And now - it is Done, it is bound, the Girls approved, and !! It is on the back of my couch awaiting its fate ( we don't know what that is yet)

Here is your question for the week - how many quilts do you have in your house?  Me? I don't know, but I am thinking I want to count - just so I can say X number of quilts......

And now it is your turn to link up your Finished (or not) Projects

Love it!!! I like your new style! It's been windy here, too.

I so love the Buckeye blocks, and they look great in blue - love the plaid border! Your girls are really into their modeling gig. I guess I shouldn't complain about the winds we've had lately, since it probably blows harder and longer where you are!

Very fun finish! The border is really cool. Definitely worth the extra effort. Hopefully you get a respite from the wind. We did yesterday, but it looks like it's already on the rise this morning.

That is such a fun finish, Alycia! I love how you continued the main design into the border. I would guess I probably have 50 quilts in my house? And that is not even counting all the tablerunners that I've made. 😊

What a great job on rearranging the blocks for a new design and again, the border accent is perfection!

I just love what that change of color as a border does for this one and your yellow quilt! So fun! Windy here too, although we live down in a holler that keeps a little more protected. Must be March, right?!

Awesome job, Alycia! The red frames it so well. Well, maybe not as the blocks are escaping on every sides BUT you know what I mean, lol. I love, 🧡, it. Congrats! ;^)

I love how the blocks spill over into the border. And the border color is fantastic. I give lots and lots of quilts away. But I probably have 15 finished in my house. We won’t talk about the UFOs!

This looks amazing, Alycia. I love how the blocks extend out into the border. So clever!

What a great way to incorporate the border as part of the pattern. Love how the quilting design enhances the twirl.
