So the song running thru my head is actually Dancing Queen from Abba - but! Don't you think Drama Queen fits?
and DRAMA QUEEN - its the most awesome name for a Quilt!!
Here is how this one came about.
I was reading Bernie's Blog ( needle and foot ) and she was talking about the Positivity QAL .... in the comments Julie ( QuiltDiva Julie ) commented that she had quilts available but they needed to be quilted
I admit... I am a stalker.... I emailed Julie and said - I have time to quilt them if you'd like .... and then my UPS man showed up and said - Here is the box you are looking for. And I said Do you want to see what's inside?
So we opened up the box and Drama Queen was on the top - and he laughed and said - do you all name your quilts?
And I said No, but we should - cuz this is awesome...
and so! Drama Queen yelled at us and said finish me FIRST!!!
Photo Overload!!!
- And now.... it is your turn!! Link up your finishes for this week!
- Help us make the linky party grow and Provide a link back ON YOUR POST - to this post.
- ( I reserve the right to remove you from the linky party if you don't link back)
- Strut your stuff!!

Fantabulous!
What a lovely quilt story. How nice of you to finish those up for Julie and get them off to comfort someone. Delightful quilt.
Drama Queen for sure!! Can hardly wait to see what else was in that box. This one is fabulous, I can see the recipient looking at fabrics for hours!!! Beautiful quilting.
DQ looks amazing — thanks again for quilting it for Mercyful! Love the series of tips!!!!! (Quiltdivajulie)
Boy, that really is something! Very colorful... dramatic!!! Perfect name! Can't wait to see the rest of what was in the box! This one's a charmer!
That is so nice of you to quilt the quilt. I agree that binding should be included. I'm always so excited when I finish a quilt top then I think, I have to sew the binding. Sewing binding just isn't fun or exciting. But I'm always glad I do that ahead when it's time to sew the binding onto the quilt. Dancing Queen is a wonderful name, happy stitching!
Wow Alycia this really is a diva and it's wonderful to see her come alive! Well done!
Now that is a dramatic story! Thanks for sharing!!!!
What a grand collaboration!
Drama Queen is totally fabulous! And how awesome for Julie that you are quilting it.
W.O.W. That is stunning. Thanks for the tip on setting a timer while admiring the fabrics. <3
Fantastic story! I love that you were able to step in to help finish quilting and WOW... now we know your kryptonite is making the binding. That is powerful knowledge!!
What a stunning quilt.
Absolutely fabulous! That's back texture is just delicious too.
Oh, Alycia, this is such a gorgeous quilt! Just vibrant. And the pieced back is perfect. Can you tell me anything about the big red poppies on black? I have a red and black/tan plaid hourglass quilt that needs a backing with red and black (I think).
Wow, what a great quilt! And you've got me singing Abba songs too! Great way to start the day.
Well anything red will most likely be beautiful to me. Make it red and black and for sure I'm going to the like the use of my old high school colors. I first noticed the red, but like you say, once looking closer at the blacks, those fabrics are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing the Drama Queen. It sure is great when things work out together.
the kids are right...way cool!
Awesome dramatic quilt!!! Nice quiet quilting to compliment it! Great job, Alycia!!!
It's dramatic. Is that made from jellyrolls? Or just scraps?
