Cowboy Shirts and !! FONF!!! and TGIFF!!!!

 I got a finish.... I got a finish.... 

One of my Sons is a Wyoming Cowboy.... and we found this really cool fabric at a Quilt shop in Laramie. So he bought enough for a shirt - and asked me to make him one..... and at the rate that it took me to make it..... its a good thing there are clothing stores!!

But!! I love this one - that Fabric is actually a batik type fabric, and it is really pretty!!

In the other news.... who is up for some Mystery Fabric?   I have been sorting through my fabrics and there are quite a few that I just won't use - some florals, some kids, some solids, some Repro's, and some scraps - Most of my scraps are large - the little ones go to dog beds....

so I thought I would stuff those USPS LARGE Flat rate boxes - they measure 12 x 12 x 5 1/2 and offer them to you - for $30 total.  If your interested - either email me direct or leave me a comment with your email and we can do paypal or venmo and I will send out fabric so you can stitch your heart away!!!

A Hawaiian Shirt .... Finish!!!

 I finished another Shirt.... It's a different style than the first one, and quite frankly - A little easier!!

I think its called a Hawaiian Style?  

And I really did use a Hawaiian Print!!  The top is the man trying it on for me to see if I got the sizing close to right - and then LB came home... ( yay!! But he took a lot of groceries back home with him!)

And goofed off a little for me! Oh ya - he also did chores for the weekend so we could get away for a bit. I love having Kids that know what they are doing!

I think I may now be ready to cut into his Special Fabric.... Maybe..... I'm still a little worried.

Also - for my Birthday ( in August) I asked if we could go to the Wild Animal Sanctuary. it is one of the most coolest places in Colorado - and so... we went on safari.

Well - not like a real safari - they have an elevated walkway up above the place - Its a mile long... and I love it. Took my camera and just pretended I was in Africa....

Now... read this photo from right to left - Top right - she is stalking the ducks and hunting in her pond, 

Bottom Right - she turns my way.... silently stalking

Then left - She jumps - and I threw my camera up and screamed - then went - HEY!!! I wanted that photo - and tried again.  It was really awesome to watch.

It almost seems like another life ago -  but I used to be a clothing manufacturer.... and then I got into Quilting and I think I forgot all about garment making... until now  haha!!

I started a Maternity Clothing company in 1995 and was the first online clothing company that actually took orders... it was an awesome time. I think its hard to be a *first* anymore....

Anyways - I had 10 employees - we sewed a lot, and then one day quilting entered my world - and I just put those patterns away.... until!!! My son said - Mom - I found this cool fabric and I want a shirt out of it - and I panicked .... 

What is a Mom to do? TEST the pattern again!!! You know just to make sure you still have those skills. And then you make the boy go hiking with you before university starts.... so are you ready??

Ta-da!!! I found a funny Pepsi Print in my Fabric Stash to test my Sewing abilities - and!! There are a few adjustments to make for the 6'8" kid - but I guessed pretty good I think!

I love having a son who is willing to goof off with me!! - 

So now that we have that shirt back in our sewing skills - he asked me to try a different style - before I cut into his *good * fabric.... just have to add the buttonholes to it - and I will make him do another photo shoot!!
