a QOV top and Finished ( or not!) Friday!

Ohhh I may be slowly getting back in action!! I had a morning to start looking at my sewing area - and the piles... the piles people - enough to make me want to start sewing someplace else haha!

but!! I got this top finished - I just had to sew the blocks into the strips, and apply the out borders - sounds easy right?  Well - It was - but we had 42 interruptions by unknow objects driving by  - the dogs had to bark at each unknown sounds..... ( okay -it was the sound of ghosts - but Daisy was sure they were out there)

We had an accidental skunking - and boy howdy was that a stink

and! we actually had to get some work done ( good work!)

but Lookie here:

A TOP!!!

And while I was sorting in those piles - I found the binding strips I meant to make a while ago - they are now bindings - ready for our QOV's - and that pile is a lot smaller....

a

I am sort of afraid to keep digging - but I must - I must get to the bottom of the piles... before I Start something new.... right?/  Isn't that the LAW or something like that 😉

How did your week go?

We have a neighborhood skunk - once in awhile he is bad! Love that you found that finished quilt top, and the binding, too. Perfect for a quick finish!

I have "piles" too! I cleared the cutting/featherweight sewing area this week. Next up is the ironing surface. Little by little the piles are reduced, reorganized and surfaces become exposed! I like your newest flimsy! As for summer, our granddaughter is coming from England for a visit. She's four so her mama is also coming! We can't wait!

I’m not sure it’s a law but sometimes it’s for our sanity ;-)

When my husband would work the night shift, having the dog stare out the window and growl at ? used to really bug me! lol

I love it! I wish I could get through my scraps!!! The newly framed cheater panel looks lovely, and how awesome to have to much binding ready to go. I think I may have to adopt that habit from you!

Another very pretty QOV top. You're describing MY sewing space - piles everywhere again. And a zillion ideas spinning in my head like always. LOL

Oh no! A skunk! And by the smell of it, he wasn't Pepe Le Pew! Glad you were able to finish this top though. It's lovely. Yes, yes, you got to go through the pile before starting something else because an idiot decided it was so, lol. You're the master of your ship so do as you wish, girl! Enjoy! ;^)

We had a possum in the backyard one evening last week. I had to carry the dogs inside, since they wanted to get that critter, and it was up a tree. Lots of barking and sniffing around!

Oh no, a skunking (accidental or not) is tough. Your quilt top is beautiful and I love that you made all the bindings. Looking good!!!

A skunk and a ghost? ! Wowzer you did have some interruptions! So glad you finished this beauty. I really love how you framed the panel. BTW - We have a ghost too- her name is Sally ; we often hear bumps throughout the day and night . It makes one pause. Hee! Hee!

What a gorgeous quilt - I love panels! How did you keep the skunk smell out of your sewing room? It has happened to us in the past, and the smell stayed in the house soooo long.

Beautiful quilt, I'm sure it will loved by a lucky veteran. Nice job getting started on the piles. Starting is the hardest part! Sorry about the skunk.

My sister has had problems with the little black & white fluff balls. They are cute, but their smell can be overpowering in large doses. I think skunk smells like a really pungent lemon, not terrible in small doses. There is a blog I used to read everyday but she has stopped blogging as she is older and just wants to spend her time doing things she wants to do. Anyway she lives on a farm and has several dogs. Some of the dogs like to get out at night and chase the lovely pepe le pews until they get sprayed. She shared a "recipe" to get rid of the smell on her blog. This is the exact blog post that she gives it, but if you don't want to have that link, her blog is Behaven Acres and the date is March 2017.

Keep up the good quilting work, I appreciate seeing all you do. :)
Hugs, Kara

No, you don't really need to put things away and clean up. HOWever, it will be a lot easier to find things. (Said the quilter who isn't very good about putting things away except her rotary cutter and her scissors. Weird, right.) Hope you make some progress on the straightening up effort.

A very fun quilt top. If you can make any pile shorter, that's an achievement. So glad you've been able to get back to stitching.

Oh, that's a nice quilt top! Bummer about the skunk. That's never fun.
