Flags for Sue Quilt of Valor and.... Finished ( or not) Friday!

 Happy Friday!!

I was accused this week of being a Pollyanna... and I laughed! I haven't heard that word in a long time, as in - I think my Grandma used it and she passed on decades ago!  But yes - I will take that accusation. I know that the world is not perfect, but think of all the fun a little joys that really do happen all around you each day... It will make you happier, and a Lot less stressed!

Even when you get up to iron and see Wade the Steer heading towards the dog kennels... IN YOUR YARD.... just in case you want to know... that is NOT where he is supposed to be. But Wade thinks he is human and he wanted a little head rub... *sigh* ( Pictures at the end of the post)

And today - what makes me happy? I have finished another Flags for Sue Quilt of Valor.

QOV #19 for 2020

I used a Blue Polka Dot to sash this one - and I like it!! And a fun clamshell to quilt it with.

I love these quilts - and the most cool thing is how many of them are Hugging Veterans that were BORN OF FLAG DAY!!! Who knew that would work out so well like that! My Favorite is a WWII Veteran, born on Flag Day, he said his eyes were leaking a little when he received his .... oh my!

Ready for Wade the Steer?  I wish I could video him, but I laugh to much when he comes to see me, and he lets me pet him, and he is huge, so I am always ready to move fast!

As soon as I pulled the phone out, he got shy - but.... he really does think he is human!!

Alright - Show us your Finished ( or Not) Projects!! Let us ohh and ahh and leave you a cool comment!

Being a Pollyanna is better than someone who complains constantly, I avoid those people! It's not fun having animals in the yard who aren't supposed to be there. Normally here they wait until we've had several inches of rain then they run through the yard. Happy stitching!

Your flag quilt is awesome, and I especially love the clam shell quilting (unexpected and interesting on a patriotic quilt) -- but Wade the Steer totally steals the show! Hah! :-). Happy holidays, Polyanna!

How funny! Does Wade get a treat along with his head rubs? Have a good weekend!

A perfect post! Yes, I am accused of being too optimistic , too, but I won't change that outlook! Love you little steer--sweet! Oh, and the quilt says it all!

I remember making some blocks for that Flags for Sue block drive. They sure make into some wonderful quilts.

I'll pass on petting a steer no matter how sweet he/she happens to be! I'd steer clear!! ;-)

I forgot to say that I would think a person was giving me a compliment if they called me a Pollyanna!!! It's challenging to be one I would think!

My dad had angus cattle about 25 years ago. Wade brings back some interesting memories. Awww...., love that your quilt made that WWII vet’s eyes leak a little.

I love your Pollyanna attitude, and it's one of the reasons why I keep coming back (that, and your amazing quilts...). I know I always will get a dose of cheer here, and that's so crucial these days. Thank you for always being so upbeat and for all the fun stories and QoV leadership!

I LOVE your flag quilt and makes me feel the need to put mine together. In fact, I should make more flags and make more than one flag quilt!! HA Your goofy steer in the yard reminds me of a new fave pastime. Around Halloween, some gal posted about sharing 'used' pumpkins with her friend who has goats. She also mentioned they liked bread. So I took a few pumpkins by (LOTS of peeps were sharing their pumpkins) and fed them bread. They were so funny that I've stopped by with bread a few times since.

Hehe! "Pollyanna" would be a great thing to be accused of being. :) What a funny boy Wade is, love it!

Hi Alycia, nothing wrong with being optimistic. It's so much less stressful than being a pessimist. I have to work at it but seeing the good in people and life is a good thing in my opinion. Love Wade and your quilt :-) Take care.

Love the flag quilt finish, the sashing is perfect. Hope Wade was persuaded to peaceful return to where he belongs.
