I might be cleaning a little bit in my Fabric Stash, and I might be dreaming of all the new quilts I could make, and i might be suffering with a little bit of QDD again......
When cleaning up some of my projects in motion ( sort of, I am not admitting to a stalled out stage yet) I found a little bag stuck in there - so I pulled it out, and took the fabrics out and Look!!
There are 14 FQ's of the creams on the top of the photo, and 14 FQ's of the maroons, greens, blues and blacks. On the left - there is a yard of each of those - there are the Kansas Troubles fabrics.
I know this because it says so on the selvage, not because I am some fabric genius or anything ;-)
Here is question Number 1 - in the "dark" pile they included that taupey brownish color - , does it contrast with the light in the top of the photos ? I put a real "dark" between them so you could tell me if I'm on to something....
Then I searched through my patterns and my books and found these three patterns......

Blue Ridge Beauty From Adventures in Leaders and Enders by Bonnie Hunter
I am really leaning towards the Blue Ridge Beauty to use these fabrics on. I am really liking the idea of getting to use this as another Leader/Ender project...... but....
What do you think?
PS - Cherie in St Louis - you are getting a box of scraps!!! Thanks for playing along you all - and beware - there may be more in the future......

Seriously? Wow!! I can't wait :) Guess we'll have packages that pass in the night.....QOV blocks are heading your way soon ;-)
Blue Ridge beauty was my first choice before I read that you might prefer it, too! It pays to reorganize! You find all kinds of treasure!
I made Blue Ridge Beauty and absolutely loved the experience and enjoy the quilt now. I vote for that pattern.
Dolly says, "go for it!"
Of the three, I like Blue Ridge Beauty .. but what about your own Not-So-Top-Secret?
Color wise I think they would be fine. As far as the pattern, my opinion is that only you know what mood you are in and how much time you have to invest, etc. I'm in the simpler mood and would go for the Fons and Porter.
Definitely the Blue Ridge Beauty pattern with those great fabrics. As to the taupe piece being dark enough to contrast with the lights, trust your instincts. It could work but you will have to see if it works for you and your aesthetic. It will be a beautiful quilt.
I'll throw in another idea - how about your Pink Plaid Strip quilt? That would show off these fabrics nicely, especially the medium-scale prints.

I've made Blue Ridge Beauty in Pinks. It makes a great leader/ender project.
That curvy Log Cabin is really stunning. I don't believe that you've got a loser in the bunch. Happy Quilting!!
Fun fabric for the BRB quilt. I would use the taupe as a light for pops over the quilt. The photo shows a light gold. maybe in person it is darker? looking forward to seeing your quilt.
BLUE RIDGE BEAUTY!!!!! BLUE RIDGE BEAUTY!!!!!! Keep the neutrals, neutral (including the darker tan). You will be so happy that you did!
Blue Ridge Beauty, by all means! You can't go wrong with a Bonnie Hunter pattern!!!! (lynnstck(at)yahoo.com)
I vote for Blue Ridge Beauty! Gorgeous fabric colors for that pattern!!!
I vote for the curvy log cabin, that is if this is a voting process! Blue Ridge Beauty is beautiful but oh... those curves! That's on my list of 'to do' so you should have it too? Bahaha!
I will be sending you a red/neutral Blue Ridge Beauty shortly - it is a QOV and because of that I had to reduce the number of blocks. This is the 3rd one I have made as a leader/ender project. My 1st one is in blues/neutrals and is on the bed in my guest room. The 2nd one was sent to you as a QOV and it was in reds/neutrals. This is a great quilt but it has lots and lots of pieces and I loved it as a way to use up scraps. I'm not sure I would make this with yardage - you wants lots of variety in your fabrics.
I love finding "new" fabric. I most always will pick a bonnie quilt, it will be timeless
I really like the Bonnie Hunter Pattern.
I think all of the choices would work. Blue Ridge Beauty would use up a lot more because the pieces are smaller for each block, but I live the curvy one too. Good luck.
I'm lagging behind in my blog reading so you may have already posted about which pattern you've chosen. Heck, you may already have it pieced! :) I am smitten with those fabrics and am always drawn to them. That may be why I have a very large bin of them.
I wholeheartedly vote for Blue Ridge Beauty! I've always wanted to make it. In fact, maybe I should start it too...you've inspired me.
