US Navy and The Ribbon Quilt

We have sew days where all of our quilters come together and pick on me .... I mean quilt !!!

We make blocks, we finish quilts , we come up with new designs , we have a great time , sometimes we even have a little chocolate.

We were honored to have a US Navy Veteran come to us and let us award him his Quilt of Valor .

He came and ended up spending a lot of time talking with us , and of course - we overloaded him with quilting info and all had to show him our projects . He was a great sport , and ... he loved his quilt .

This quilt was part of a Quilt A long ... I designed the quilt - we named it *the Ribbon*

Each week we had a new step to sew and ta da !!! This was the result .

The Ribbon Quilt!

 Earlier this year we stitched on *The Ribbon*

That was a fun Quilt a long for me - I assumed I would have mine quilted by now... but I don't - so I have something to look forward too!!!

But I finally did get the pattern into one compiled single design.

I know most of you should have all the steps - but if you are showing your off and they want the pattern - you can now send them to my ETSY store - to get it!!

The RIBBON - Quilt a Long - THE BORDERS

 Today - we will apply the borders to our QUILT!!!

We are adding TWO Borders - a small Navy Blue one and a larger white one:

QOV Quilt a long - aka - The Ribbon Step 1

 Good morning!!

I hope you have had a chance to grab some fabric and get it cut. I have heard that a few of you are doing in scrappy!! I Love that - and hope you will share your photos... either leave your blog link in the comments or email it to me ;-)

the first block we will be making is the 25 patch block - it will be 8 inches square,

this step took me right at 2 hours. I pressed everything to the dark, and ! I got to watch two The Marvelous Mrs. Maisels on prime haha!!

OHHH I JUST SAW A TYPO - They will be 8 inches square unfinished

7 1/2 finished!! I am going to change that right now!!  ( the new instruction sheet has the word correction added to it ;-)  )

QOV Quilt a Long - aka - The Ribbon - Intro

 Happy Wednesday!!!

Welcome to the Quilt a long!! This quilt is called * The Ribbon* 

For some reason it reminds me of a woven ribbon - I hope you can see it too - and it doesn't make me look silly!

Here is the Quilt!!

It will measure 60 1/2 by 75 1/2 inches when finished - so a perfect size for  a Quilt of Valor 

You can find the Fabric Requirements and Cutting Instructions here :  The Ribbon Intro 

Get all your fabrics together, and next Wednesday we will start with the block construction!!
