A lot of Little things

I never know if I feel more productive doing the *big* things, or getting a lot of *Little* things done? What about you? What makes you happy when you look at that to do list?

I got to finish the quilting on one of my own.....

it has come on and off the frame a lot haha

We had a block exchange for one of my groups - it was Hot August Nights. I actually did finish them in time, I just didn't get them documented...

I kind of love these blocks - and wonder what a whole quilt would look like?
The Block Round Robin for my guild has ended - these were the blocks I made for one of the ladies ( the very last blocks)

Of course - now I want to make more and make a table runner for my kitchen....
I have been blessed to be very busy with Client quilts this month - it could not have come at a better time, so I am so tickled!!

Machine Quilting can be a fickle business - it all depends on when people want to piece, or if they want to use machine quilters.

I am so appreciative they came my way!!

we harvested the very last of the garden - and that was good timing. The day after we harvested we had freeze number 1, and all the tomatoes that he missed, turned into ice balls !
Another Quilt I quilted - this one was such a simple fun quilt - she just chose a lot of fabrics that blended well together and did rows... So cute!!

And each day that I tire these girls out... I call it a WIN!!!  I still have the third puppy - but she really prefers her bed with all her blankies  haha!

ANY finish feels great!!! I seem to always have so many projects in the works that it takes a bit to actually reach the finish line 😊

Nice work on the quilts and on the blocks. Those tree ones really draw me in. As for your question I think it depends on the item, the day and how old is the one you finish!!

Your catch-up post is fun! Yes, the slashed blocks would be great in a quilt -- either very modern with just a few, or a whole bunch.

I take anything finished as a WIN! This weekend: Replaced a webbing handle on a reusable grocery bag, repaired an armhole tear in a t-shirt I love, pressed a big stack of HSTs received in the mail from a friend who knows these are my favorite quilty component.

Not much overall but I am calling it a win!

Great quilty progress for you! I currently have a lap full of purr motors, having adopted (2) 9w old sisters from the overwhelmed shelter in September. I'd attach a pic if I could, they are so stinkin' cute!

That is a pretty quilt you quilted. I like those navy blocks with the colorful strips. Were they hard to make? I thought your tomatoes were apples!

I'm trying to catch up on not reading blogs for many days!!! The quilt projects look great! So do the peaceful girls!

I hear you on quilting for others. I don't want a lot of customers but I'd like a couple each quarter.... Yep a tired dog is worth a lot -- in time for you to get things done. Happy quilting.

The tired dogs sprawled on the couch gave me a big smile today. So sweet!! The QOV at the top is sure pretty, and I agree that a whole quilt with those very modern blocks would be really interesting. Cute tree blocks too!

What a pretty quilt you made and so many other great treasures. I have seen the pickup sticks block (a silly name) in a whole quilt...they are very fun!

I love marking items complete on the list, big or small. I call it a win. Congrats on finishing your quilt. The block exchange looks insteresting. I think the tree blocks would make a lovely table runner.

I'm working on assembling a quilt similar to your hot nights, but we sliced our blocks and inserted strips (it was a block exchange).

What sweetie pies those pups are! I am so missing mine. Love the quilt you are finishing.

Both! The little things tend to be the things that move a project along. It feels good to see it "grow" with each step. Of course the big things are the "Ta Da" finishes or maybe those pesky deadline projects! Never a bad thing to get to cross one of those off the "To Do" list, especially if it's been hanging around for a long time. As always you have a lot of great things going on. As a LA-er, I guess the hardest is squeezing in your own projects into the rotation. I'll bet those are the most satisfying to get done because you get to keep and admire them longer.

Great work on the quilts. Machine quilting is definitely a fickle business! I just quilt for me now. I think I feel productive with both, but probably more so with a lot of little things because BIG things take sew long! LOL Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings. Have a great week!
