Star and Crown Progress

Back in January - Pat Speth talked at our guild ( via zoom)

We were inspired by her Star and Crown blocks - and at our late January sew day -we started making blocks.

This is where we were at the end of our sew day:

I put the blocks in a container to marinate - and then last week - the bucket magically appeared on my sewing table .... so I went to work.....

Got all the Blue Blocks finished, and started on the rest of the reds......

as of last night :

I actually got tow more of the Red Blocks finished, but they weren't ironed when I went to take a photo.... I can feel the end of the quilt now.... Must.... Keep.... Quilting.....

Oh ya!! and we did this most of Sunday:

I'm the smart one, I volunteered to drive... K did the Hay Pick up... we get it right out of the field, so its nice to have a cool overcast morning to load it.

Now to unload it.... ...

Happy Stitching!!!!!

Very pretty quilt, I love the pattern. Do you actually help unload the hay?

Star and Crown sounds familiar, I think I might have done it a long time ago. Pat was at a nearby guild and we were allowed to come as there was room for the class.

That’s impressive progress on your blocks! Looking good. And you little man Rex is so handsome! You chose wisely or the hay operations.

Great progress all around! The quilt blocks look wonderful and very smart to volunteer to be the driver. :)

Those Crown and Star blocks are GREAT! Yes, you picked the best job. . .I remember those days. . .I didn't get to drive; but, my job was to position the bales for easy pick up. You had to be watchful because sometimes rattlesnakes were underneath the bale. It was always booted feet that rolled the bales until the coast was clear!

Beautiful quilt in the making, I'm in love with the way that those two blocks combine in my favorite of all color combos. Well done! Good luck with the hay!

What a great combination of blocks, and even better with all the scraps.

Loading and unloading is the hardest part! Your herd will appreciate it though.
