If you remember - Sew Pretti is hosting the Positivity QAL - to benefit Mercyful Quilts - and!! it started this weekend!!
So what is girl to do - but see if she can follow directions and start a block ( or more)
And so! I did.... I have quite few more cut out now! These are pretty fun - and the pattern is on Pretti's blog: Positivity QAL
Awhile back I was reading Nancy's Grace and Peace blog and she kept showing these cute Gingham quilts - kind a buffalo plaid looking kind ( go look here: Gingham Quilts ) and I kept thinking I want to try one.
This was the weekend to dive in
I have all these rowed and up on the wall:
Never mind that I just pinned them over the other things up there - it just adds dimension right??? I think that will be a cute one and it will measure about 49 x 58 inches.
I also spent time working on my kitchen and my bathroom remodel -until the rain made us stop. I was painting trim outside.... that doesn't work in the rain. I had to move my operation inside...

I love the work of the remodel but it does cut into the quilting time! lol I think the new projects are coming along beautifully!
You know that "gingham" pinned over the other quilt wall items shows some interesting quilt possibilities...
Sure would make a fun border on the gingham quilt!
You are a step ahead of me on the Positivity block. I'm going to go give one a try asap. Hum, how do I not remember the plaid quilts? (ok, maybe the brain isn't as sharp as it used to be. Sigh.
You've got a great start on both projects. I'm going to do the Positivity Quilt Along and hope to get a start on that today. Happy stitching this weekend.
Looks like a positive start on Preeti's QAL, Alycia. The design wall looks a little blue! Did you miss the PURPLE announcement for the June Rainbow Scrap Challenge? Looking forward to see what you might make. Or... do you plan to sub in navy for purple???
Hi Alycia! I know what you mean - I kept seeing those Buffalo plaid quilts that Nancy was working on, too. She made me want to go make one myself, too. Yay you for getting right to it! AND, you plus blocks are pretty darn cute. And who doesn't like polka dots?!! ~smile~ Roseanne
I'll have to go see what Pretti is up to. And when you have at least 3 more layers of projects on your wall at one time, then you will look like my design wall.
Onward!!! We wouldn't want you sleeping on the job!
I've been eyeing those Buffalo Plaid style quilts, just haven't moved in their direction yet. So cute!
Love your pluses. Thanks for sharing Preeti's sew along. I missed that post.
I love seeing your positivity quilt and the gingham! I am planning on the first and intrigued by the second. This week I am travelling so I am looking forward to returning and cutting up those scraps and coming up with some beauties! So psyched!
