They did very well - the relay places 4th in the medley, and 2nd in the free relay. The guys were just stoked!!! And they ate... a lot!!
It was a great trip - we traveled over 1400 miles in 5 days, and we saw a LOT of our country. Some places I had never been, and I think I fell even more in love with our country!
We headed west to Grand Junction CO,
Then headed south into Arizona.
The road we took was a small two lane road... we had no clue!!
We even came across our first *Cash only* McDonalds... I did not know those existed.
The weather was incredible, you could see forever... and see the storms come in.
See that little speck in the sky? That is my son, in a plane, having a blast!!
After checking out on college, we headed east to Albuquerque. What a great place. We came face to face with a semi on fire... not cool. But I have to hand it to those semi-drivers. They are some cool cats, and can handle pretty much everything.
Plus - they know the best rest stops ;-)
I kind of forgot to take a lot of pictures. I think it was road weariness... but this college was gorgeous. I was glad I got my camera out for it.
He had a great time checking out colleges, I had a great time hanging with my kids. We were a LOT tired when we got back. But a LOT smarter!!
And know - I think I want to be in college again!!

One of our June graduates is at the Air Force Academy. I can only imagine how beautiful it is there.
Hope your son gets some good college scholarships. And he can work through college to help ease the hit on Mom & Dad's wallets a little bit.
There's only one place in my town that accepts credit/debit cards...and they charge and extra 50 cents if it's for less than $20.
what colleges are you guys looking at? My #2 daughter is the same age and can't even start picking out a college. She knows which ones she doesn't want to go to, but has no idea on a major or career options. She is frustrated and so are we :) My older daughter knew what she wanted to be so her college choice was easy, plus she got a full ride scholarship, which helped a LOT!
Ditto here! I'd settle for being that age again. LOL
Hugs!
What an amazing trip!!!!! Thanks for sharing all the photos.
Great photos of your trip. Choosing a college "that fits" is difficult. I'm glad you got to see the campuses to get the feel of the school. Difficult decisions are ahead.
We live in Colorado Springs! See the AFA often as we go to the Doctor up there. It's simply gorgeous. But then, Colorado is AWESOME!
Oh Alycia, if I new you were coming to Arizona I might have been able to meet you. I have a stack of quilts to give you! I gave an AccuQuilt Go! introductory class today at the LQS and used about 10 QOVs for show 'n tell. This coming week they all go into the washing machine and then they'll be on their way to you. Stay tuned .
Gorgeous pics of my alma mater...USAFA! My baby is starting first grade. I can't even imagine how quickly the time will fly and we'll be in your shoes.
What a great trip and how very cool that your boy got to fly! Looks like great adventure lies ahead! What schools are on his radar? I felt the same way you do about wanting to go back to college! Not sure if I want to go back when it comes to studying, but I would love to experience college with my kid! Not so sure she would appreciate it as much as I would though. LOL. I LOVED college and I want it to be an amazing experience for my kids too.
The Quilt Show, did a couple of the internet TV shows in the Chapel/Cathedral. It's really beautiful inside and out. I'll email you some links so you can watch them.
