The first thing I got finished this week - was this field!!! Just in case you can't see - those are bales of hay. They are now baled, and loaded in my trailer. FINISHED!! Whoop Whoop!!

When we first moved out here to the country over 30 years ago we always used to see bales of hay out in the fields. Slowly over the years the fields have been devoured by houses so I don't see many hay bales anymore.
Hooray for a finish! Double Slice is cute. I keep forgetting about that pattern when I'm looking for a quickie kid quilt.

Do you bail the hay? So impressed. I only drove Hubby's tractor once or twice, and it was fun. We had a mower on it and he used it for most of the 5 acres. He says he doesn't miss it though - lol!

Love the soft colors and flowery quilting motif in the Double Cut quilt. Sure it feels great to get that field cut and baled also.
Your quilt is lovely but as a farmer, I'm excited to see the hay bales. I know you've been in a drought so I'm very happy for you to have baled hay. I hope and pray you are able to bale hundreds of bales more this summer.

Are those the little hay bales, like we used to have in the olden days (40+ years ago) or those new huge rectangle bales that one person can't lift? I used to either drive the truck (slowly) while the male folks loaded the bales, or handed out water. Boy was that a long time ago (preteen years).

They do say that farm work is never done! Baling hay is a chore but the reward of playing with fabric is a good one. Sweet quilt.
