Catching up

It seems like we worked hard, prepped hard, played hard, and now... we have to clean up hard.... I think I like it all but the clean up part. haha! It cut into my quilting time a bit.

But!!

its all good and fun to hang with our family. It is growing, and it is so fun to watch the  *Next gen* plan the kids, have the kids, clean up after the kids... haha!!

Meanwhile - back at the ranch - the Cattle are growing, but you all - look at how dry it is. I truly have been enjoying the 60's and 70's - but we NEED SNOW!!! or rain! I'll take it all right now. Its going to be drought conditions this year if some of that liquid doesn't come down!

Mr Rexie Roo Roo is growing - and a goof ball!! He is extremely curious about everything, but also,,,, He loves to head butt. That is a thing that has to go away!

My Daisy Chica after a hard day of chasing balls, moving cattle, and just being her!

Oh ! and the Sunrises - you just can't beat them...

Did you see that the January Color for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge is Blue? One of my Favorites - but I haven't decided on an RSC project for this year. I must start thinking!!!

I have quite a list of Commission quilts to do for the first 1/4 of the year - so I am thinking it will have to be just a block, not a whole quilt. and Maybe it should be a block that I could make into one quilt at the end of the year???   Or???

Oh, I can see where a head butting colt could be a problem! The horse whisperer can take care of that, no? Stunning sunrise!

How do you train a little horse not to head-butt? He is so, so cute. Your puppies are just adorable, what a great life they lead! We have not even had a quarter inch of rain this month, and it has been a pretty dry year. Our county is under a burn ban.
Glad you had a good Christmas!

When I participated in the RSC challenge, I made one or two blocks a month to make a complete quilt by the end of the year, life is easier that way. I hope you get rain or snow soon. Blessings to you and happy stitching in 2026!

You'll be busy busy this winter with quilting. I hope you start getting some moisture soon. We have been in a drought for a couple of years, and had no snow at all last winter until late March. We've already had more this winter than last , but it's pretty frozen and brown around here because it melted. We got a little dusting overnight into yesterday. But I can see the grass poking through. We need that moisture too.

The scenes of your ranch life are beautiful. We are having a drought here, too. I usually have a ton of ideas but I'm blank on them right now...

Love all your tales! So different from being a city girl in cold Wisconsin. You are right, that sunrise is a bright spot to start a day. We have had almost drought here as well. Enjoy your family! Thanks for all you do to promote us to quilting and sharing that connection.

I have decided on a block for RSC; not sure how I'll manage; but, I can always share a couple months blocks at a time. . .the rules are loose! You will figure out a block or blocks! Lovely sunrise photo!

Yeah the clean up part after the holiday is never fun, I'll put that off as long as I can! We are on track to have the driest December ever in Oklahoma. I'm with you on needing some moisture (as long as it isn't freezing rain or sleet, we're good). Looking forward to what you come up with for RSC.

Ranch life is hard but the beauty of the mornings, the devotion of your extended family and the clean living is enviable. Thank you for sharing with us city folks. The only hard thing I have done lately is think about RSC 2026. Two things are certain - I am participating and will make a large block, like 16" square. Simmering in a few ideas. Praying for rain in your neck of the woods!
