Happy Veterans Day!
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter the words, but to live by them. " - JFK Photo - my back yard in the morning
and onto the TOP!!! So these blocks were donated by Sew Downtown - the Quilt shop in Greeley, and they are so striking. I have presentation coming up to a Motorcycle Veteran and I thought of this panel - and got to playing....
I have been able to successfully walk them together for 4 days now - not every walk, cuz they need their play time - but you all - My heart is SO happy!!! I can get them both ready by myself now, and we can go out!! We are still working on being in the same room together, but - its getting BETTER!! I am so happy - and so worn out... Quilting truly is keeping me sane haha!
PS - when comments come thru I have mostly had email addresses to reply - the past few days ( or a week) Everyone is coming thru as a no reply blogger... do you know what changed?

"The Root of Joy is Gratefulness"
This is one of my most favorite places in No Colorado. We found it by accident, and now... I love to go back as often as I can.
I think I will start with Todays Gratitude Photo:
"There is a calmness to a life lived in Gratitude, A quiet Joy"
Do you notice that when you start your day focused on good things - the day is just better?
And now to the QOV - Connie made this one and I am SO in love with it!!!! I even asked for the pattern!! ( I am not a pattern girl.... but wow!! love this one!)

"When I started Counting my Blessings, my whole life turned around. " - Willie Nelson
This one resonated with me, as I am not a fan of the short days. And I know, that is not a phenomenon that can change, that's how the rotation around the sun works. But in those short days I sometimes struggle. And by remembering to count my blessings, sure changes my attitude.
Another photo from Oahu. That is such a pretty island.
My other gratitude - we weaned Reno from his Momma - They recommend to do it between 4 and 6 months - he is 5 1/2 mos. I was expecting a lot of whinnys and calls to each other, but! It has gone well. We put Momma in her corral on one side of the barn, And Reno is on the other side with my gelding. Momma and Reno can't see each other and its almost out of sight , out of mind. Fingers crossed it stays this easy
The other thing I did on the week that I couldn't remember was!!
Quilts of Valor!!!
We hosted a presentation before our sew day, and it was a blast. But!! Then we got to talking to all the vets, and didn't sew.... I guess we will have to make up for it on our next sew day haha! ( or not)
it seems every November I start a Photo of the Day project, or a Thankful Project. This year - I am going to work on Gratitude. I decided I would take saying of Gratitude, either written by me, or some that I find that inspire me, and overlay them on some of my favorite photos.
Here is Day 1 : Its an old Barn ( still being used) that I saw in Ten Sleep Wyoming:
Happy Friday!! Whaaaatttt? Its already Friday? Where did Monday thru Thursday go? Holee cow - this week flew by. I love to blog so that I can remember what I did, and now I am not sure what I did that made this week go by so fast!!!
Back in June, I got the BQ4 Quilt pattern and started playing with it in some beautiful Blues!!
Today!! that quilt is Quilted, and bound, and ( no laughing) draped over a dining room chair. But it looks so pretty there!!
I like how it turned out! and I really like that combination of Blues! That striped binding just makes the whole thing!!! I will tell you that this quilt pattern challenged my brain, caused me to think a little, and actually plan - so maybe it was a good thing to challenge me eh?
Hey- I do know what I did... remember a few weeks ago I sprained my ankle? well - Since I was almost recovered on my right foot, I let the doc talk me into moving my Big Toe surgery up - and I did that. I whined. it was on my left foot - I look goofy trying to walk and figure out which foot causes the least pain to do certain movements.... Just so you know, I think this is why I don't go to doctors... they hurt!
Heres to a restful weekend, and a Quilty one!!
What happened in your world? Are you still working on Finishes?
