Red Crumbs and Teal Diamonds / buckeyes

My Teal Diamonds / Buckeyes Sea Quilt is growing!!

I am using 3 1/2 inch squares instead of the normal 5 inch ones I have used in the past - so its going faster and slower! The blocks go a little faster, but!!! They don't build on the wall as fast because they are smaller... what a conundrum!!!

I think my goal for the Teal Buckeyes is 96.... so I might make it by the time Teal is really called for the Rainbow Scrap challenge 😅😅

But then!! WE all know the REAL April color is RED - check out my crumb blocks!! I got 24 done!! and there is still more red - so I am going to play again in them next weekend and see what I can do!

Spring is such a crazy time - I do not garden, I have a brown thumb! But K does  and he is digging and tilling and planning and I might try strawberries again this year. I tried them last year ( or maybe 2 years ago) and the place we chose to try them flooded... badly - so I have a new area - I am only going to try 6 plants so you can't call me a murdered if they don't make it 🍓

Ohhhh Maybe I could make one of these blocks into a strawberry and then I would win!!! haha!

Those Buckeyes are so pretty in the teal and black. Good luck with your strawberries!

Small blocks are fun to make, but it does take a lot to finish a quilt. You've made good progress with both the teal and red. I don't garden either, I kill everything. Good luck with your strawberries this year.

Your Teal Buckeyes are looking great together. It will be fun to see the size difference if you still have another buckeye quilt to photograph this one with when it gets finished. And I really like the idea of using your red crumb blocks to make a giant Strawberry!

Strawberries are tough to grow - don't be disappointed if they don't do well for you.

Smaller blocks sure do impress upon us the joy of using larger blocks! lol The teal blocks look great, though. Your red crumb blocks are impressive!

Your teal Buckeyes look great as do your red scrap blocks. I bet your strawberries make it this year. We had a late freeze one year that wiped out our plants. We haven't decided if we want to plant them again. . .although it was nice to pick our own berries!

Hello from another thought-it-was-teal-but-it's-red. Both sets of blocks are great!

Those teal blocks look fabulous! The nice thing about that block pattern is that it works for ANY size you want to use.
