There were lots and lots of feather involved.
Now she has to bind it - Bwahh haa haa - I wonder how long it takes to bind a quilt that big?
*** update: Many have asked what the pattern is - the basic pattern is here:
And the she and her sister pieced the borders from a border book. So I will tell you that when I can***

I bound a queen-size quilt and had a lot of "fun" just sewing the binding on the quilt... the hand sewing took about 6 hours alone.
You did a fantastic job with the quilting and the quilt is lovely!
WOW!! What a beautiful quilt!
Yes, it IS gorgeous. And thank you for the close-up of the border. I am just finishing up a plaid Buckeye Beauty and was wanting a brilliant idea for the border - this is what I want!!!
Wow, that is beautiful.
Absolutely gorgeous!!! I have patterns to make a star log cabin. This really makes me want to get busy!
Really like! The stars add alot. Like the tumbling blocks for the border. How many hrs, months was this project? Was there a filler, what was used? hccgems@knology.net Smiles, MJ
Beautiful job...hard to go wrong with a LC!
I made 2 queen size log cabins I quilted and binded both of them one was the arrow and the other was a mountain. I had fun making them but they were so big to quilt and bind but I did have fun
Beautiful job! This is just what I needed to see! I have a similar quilt to do for a customer and this is kind of the direction I want to go with the quilting! Thanks for posting! Stop by quiltingacrossTexas.blogspot.com in 3-4 weeks and I should have photos posted of the log cabin I am doing! Love it!
I have been looking for this log cabin star pattern for a long time. Do you know where I can find it? BEAUTIFUL job! saydra1@yahoo.com Thanks
I too would like the name of the pattern and designer. Please share the name and if it is in a book or a single pattern. e-mail me please, masgotanotion@gmail.com
You did a fantastic job. Log cabin is one of my favorite patterns.Where can I find the log cabin star pattern?
120 x 120 is what we use on our bed. they DO take a while to quilt! Have a great day, Alycia. I'll be working on some QOVs from the Moda One Star Challenge today and thinking of you and all you've done for QOVs!
I love this quilt!!! I have never made a log cabin project. I am a beginner quilter. Can you give me a tips ?
Beautiful quilt, beautiful quilting, keep the phot's coming please.
This is absolutely beautiful!
I've made a few log cabins. This is gorgeous. What a wonderful idea to put stars and yellow squares. I love it. I'm putting it on my list. Thanks for sharing.
I've been looking for that pattern! The log cabin that has stars. Can you or the person who made it tell me what the name of the pattern is?
this is just beautiful
this is an awesome quilt. I made a quilt with stars from Jackie Robinson. It is very intense piecing. Also, Judy Martin has log cabins with stars patterns. I'm starting another log cabin soon and love the feathers I've seen done on them. Makes them pop! Great job ladies!
I have made Log Cabin quilts; you can do so many different things with the completed blocks. Love this quilt - nice job.
I do some hand quilting, machine quilt smaller projects but do not have a long-arm. I have an absolutely awesome long-arm quilter with so much talent...I trust her to do the very best design for each quilt. Have a good day, An Iowa Quilter
That is a beautiful quilt! I love the stars in it too. I've made a log cabin that big, it's hard to stop making those blocks once you start :) The quilting looks great.
This is the most impressive Log Cabin I've ever seen! The colors are really handsome and the stars were a brilliant touch. Hand sewing the binding does take a long time (I agree with the six hour estimate), but it does look so much nicer than machine sewing the edge.
I love it, absolutely beautiful! I have a scrap quilt that is about that size. Who did you have quilt this one. Could you give me a name, address? I am in SW Kansas, but more than willing to ship etc...Hard to find anyone out here to do something this big. again, beautiful job!
Love this one! Log cabin was one of the first quilts I made, and am working on another one now!! Was inspired for this one by Fig Tree Quilts!!!
It's gorgeous! Great job on the quilting...love the feathers!
That is awesome! What a beauty, she is. I think log cabins are one of my favorites and they say "antique""Home" like nothing else can!
Great job log cabin quilts are my favorite quilt to make.
That's beautiful!
