Row by Row part 2

I might have planned my trips and appointments around quilt shops..... and I Might have picked up a few more license plates.... and rows...

I had to go North to Ft Collins - and did you know there are 4 quilt shops in that town??  All of them are participating - but only 3 had their plates available....

The first I stopped at was the Fig Leaf.....and I might have found some really cool fabrics that I will show you in the fall.... when I can actually take a photo without a certain child around....

Then I went to the Loopy Ewe.
The Air in that store just makes you creative......

Then I went to The Sewing Circle
Which made us all laugh - because this summer....
I sort of feel like I am going in Circles....

There is a new store in Loveland
( okay - new to me - it used to be Sweethearts quilts)
It is called Quilters Dream

Then we headed to Windsor
To the Quilters Stash!
This store used to be in Greeley and was the VERY first Quilt shop I ever went to
So It brings back memories.

The first time I went in I had a picture and an Idea -
Patty and her Mom were fantastic and they LOVED my boys.
They didn't mind them coming in with me at all
( this is not always the attitude at shops, but my kids are perfect, ( giggle)
but  I didn't know that wasn't always the case in all kids - lol)

My boys were much smaller the first time.

We walked in this time and I think Patty just about had a heart attack!
She said - are these my Little Boys?
And looked up at them, almost got a cramp in her neck.
The boys were tickled!

Then last weekend - we had to head East to the Sale Barn and left a few minutes
early so I could stop at Inspirations Quilt Shop in
Ft Morgan

I made the long trip to town ( not really, but I want you to sympathize)
And I opened the mail box and Look!!

Kevin The Quilter sent me a little something from the Quilt shop
he is close to!!!! I LOVE it!!

And My Dear Liz -
She sent me one from Washington -
from her quilt shop!!!

So Througtful!!! I really was surprised!!

Stay tuned for more........

Memorials

One of my dearest Quilting Friends lost her husband - a Navy Man.

The funeral was last week, and I was asked to not only attend, but to photograph it as well.

I must say - that makes you look at a funeral in a whole new light - and you may choke up at the most unexpected things.

I want to respect her privacy, so no photos of the family - but the Military Representation - Wow!

That made me choke up.

They stood on each edge of the perimeter.
They stood so respectfully, and the honor
Oh My...the honor
Not only honoring this fine man who passed over
but their honor to be in his presence on more time.

The final Salute
And the true respect.

My heart was overwhelmed
My friend was honored
Her husband who passed was honored.

A glimpse into my mind

or an organized look at chaos!!

I planned my FAL QAL list for the next three months. and I thought - well I had better pull out my blueberry crumble. It's the one I am struggling the most with. I had a clear vision as to how to start it - but the vision got VERY very muddy when it came time to calling it done.....

So!!!  My goal this weekend was to get it out, make a plan - and Oh! Look!!  There are projects on top of it!!

Well - I will just get those out, and see what needs to be done to get them finished.....

and........ Thus........ This is whats on the wall this morning:

Oh!!! And in the midst of this - The dear husband says - Hey I need to go to the sale barn.... want to go with me?  I said when are you leaving. He says oh about an hour.   I say - can we leave 15 minutes earlier and stop at Inspirations Quilt shop????

They are a part of the Row by Row Shop hop - I might have NEEDED their row and their plate!!

And when we got home we had a huge rain storm ( for all of 15 minutes)
but because our ground is completely saturated we had 3 lakes, immediately
And THIS!!

It said - your brain will be okay

And then I came back inside and my brain went - Ohh!!! You need to come up with a plan for your July sew day - and this popped into my mind and I went to work - and this morning........

This is the argument going on in my brain
( or brian - depending on how much caffiene you have had so far)

Glimmer Quilt

I LOVE this quilt!!! My friend Sheree made it and while it was on the design wall - I begged , Begged to quilt it - I just wanted it in my hot little hands......

and then I hoped she would forget about it, and then I would put it on my bed, and then we would all be happy......

But that didn't happen..... Sigh.... She wanted it back....

Here it is on the machine..... Cuz you just have to have that shot right??

And Here is is all Finished!
She used some Kaffee Fabrics and they just sparkled

I had such fun quilting all the texture - I really really liked the grey!!

And  a close up of the center fabrics!
