Last year one of my Quilting groups wanted to make these little scrappy Stars - and I fell in love after making one... so I trimmed up some scraps and made a pile, and figured as soon as I finished my current leader ender I would start on these...
I decided it was time to lay them out and see how many I had... and what colors I should keep making - Imagine my surprise when I was pretty even on the colors!! and! I have 23 blocks!!
I think I made 4 Blue ones for the Group quilt - and then I think I started on these in May of this year. That is not too bad for just using them as leader/enders - I bet by the end of the year I should have enough for a Quilt.
We also headed up to Wyoming this weekend - My family I married into has a very rich history around Douglas - and the Ayres Natural Bridge - I am sure I have blogged about it before. But we went up and met the family for a picnic at the bridge. Surprisingly - I took one photo!
It sure was pretty up there tho!!

Lots of scrappy goodness up on the design wall. Happy stitching this week.
Love your little scrappy stars. Are you doing sew and flip star legs?
Love all those pretty stars.
Your leader-ender blocks are pretty. I searched for your posts about Ayres Natural Bridge and found you blogged about it in 2008 and 2020. Very interesting about your Hub's connection to it! How fun it must have been for your his great-grandfather to grow up with that kind of natural beauty on his land. I loved the photo you recreated with your boys.
I like to tell myself that the sign of having a good time and enjoying your company is not having a photographs. Your scrappy stars look great and way to go keeping the colors so evenly balanced!
Sounds like a lovely weekend with extended family!! Shame on you - because now I want to run downstairs and make some of those star blocks!!! They would make a beautiful RSC block as well as being perfect for QOV.
I have been using a few orphan pieces that came from someone else as my leader-ender project as I piece. I then trim them up and include in a card as a small mug rug for the recipient.
Nice photo. It looks like it was a beautiful day. Thanks for joining Sew & Tell.
Those scrappy stars sure sparkle! Well done AND a leader ender. . .double win!!!
Beautiful scrappy leader/enders blocks!!! Glad you enjoyed your trip!
I love those scrappy stars you are making as a leader-ender project. They are coming right along. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
