Back in April I started working on this KING sized Quilt!!! I had a goal of getting it done by September, but I was afraid to voice it - what happened if I failed??? ( I mean, we know the track record of meeting deadlines)
I DID IT!!!
And I quilted HORSE SHOES!!! I love it!!
So this Quilt is for a friend - it will be being gifted as this is posting. So I hope she Likes it. BUT!!
I was at my Therapists office (Sew Downtown - the Quilt shop) and Was choosing my backing fabrics. My Therapist ( Store owner) and I got to talking about quilt sizes.
We got to talking about friends and decided the better the friend the larger the Quilt.... So She must be a good friend. I don't know if I'd go that far -- haha!! Just kidding!!
So The better the friend the larger the Quilt is that you make for them?
I will tell you there is a boo boo in it, but apparently I made the boo boo enough times - it became a design element - cuz they are all that way - Oh boy!! This was a fun quilt - it was on point tho in its construction, and that was eye boggling to me at times...
And it's big enough - I think it should count for TWO finishes!! Right??
Here is a link to the pattern I used - Art Deco Quilt

Art Deco is beautiful! Your friend is going to love it and yes, the better the friend, the bigger the quilt! Happy stitching!
She must be a special friend to receive such a large gorgeous quilt.
Lol - I told my dh about your therapy, therapist's office, etc., and he just shook his head. He knows and better not to argue! Love your quilt - couldn't see any mistakes so obviously it was a well planned boo-boo! ;-) Blessings!
Oh gosh! That's a gorgeous quilt. I love art deco. I'm a good friend, right? 😉 I usually make quilts about 60 x 80 or do for friends and family.
That is a gorgeous quilt, Alycia. Your friend will begin to call you her BESTEST friend !
It's beautiful! Love the design, and your horseshoes are so cute. Great job!
It's a gorgeous finish! Congrats on meeting your deadline with such a big quilt. I'm not so sure it's size as it is complexity. I've made quilts for Grad Girl and My Guy that really challenged me just because they liked the pattern.
Nott sure what your boo boo was as it looks perfect to me!
Love your quilt! Your lucky friend is going to love it too! Thanks for the belly laugh with your therapist comment.😆 I do agree the bigger the quilt; the better the friend. Just finished a king size for my beloved nephew.
WOW!!! JUST WOW!!! This is an amazing quilt that will certainly be cherished by your friend.
That is a fabulous quilt, Alycia! Not knowing the pattern, I wouldn't have any idea where your boo boo is, so design element it must be. It's a lovely gift for your friend! Happy Friday!
The Deco quilt is a great design and your quilting is just right.
Shhh. . .there are no errors. . only design element modifications! Your Deco finish is beautiful! What a fortunate and well loved friend you have! I hope she swoons over it!
That quilt is stunning! Well done on meeting your goal of finishing in September. Yes, I agree...the better the friend, the bigger the quilt. Thanks for hosting Finished (Or Not) Friday!
I loved reading about this design exercise and how thoughtful you are about it. Your finish will look terrific. It is less important to have perfectly straight lines than to have an overall hand made look to the rug, IMHO

Congratulations for meeting your (unspoken but very real) goal. It's beautiful and I hope your very good friend loves it very much!!
That is stunning!! I keep seeing this quilt in various colors, and this is definitely one of the prettiest.
Congrats on your beautiful finish! :)
That’s a very different quilt from your usual. I like it. I don’t see any boo-boos. I am not fond of making on point blocks, but I really like the look of them. So ya do what ya gotta do! It’s amazing!
What a gorgeous quilt and Congratulatins on meeting your deadline!
You are just amazing in all your complete and how gorgeous they are. I agree. No errors. Just design changes 😆
I have this pattern, but haven't started it!
Bravo!!! I love it!!
Gotta love your therapy and therapist session - so many of us quilt to stay sane. Beautiful finish and the horseshoe quilting is so fun.
Wow! This is STUNNING! Great job! Lucky friend!
That quilt is gorgeous!!
Just stunning! I love how the pattern is so very different from what you usually make but you made it all your own with the horse shoes!!! Beautiful!
